RT @swmansionElixir: Almost a year ago we created Popcorn, bringing @elixirlang to the browser. @JakubGonet gathered the most important lessons from working on this project – if you work with Elixir, this is a must-read

Been hacking on an Elixir port of @karpathy's autoresearch — an LLM agent that designs and trains GPT models autonomously, overnight. Turns out the BEAM is (unsurprisingly) a natural fit: hot code reloading for experiments, multi-GPU fault tolerance, LiveView to watch it think.

I think BEAM is an ideal runtime for running AI Agents - everything's already baked in. To help folks get started, I created a tiny abstraction over it named Legion. Unlike other libraries, Legion is super simple - it allows you to spawn an agent just like you'd spawn an Elixir process. And this agent can run tools pre-defined by you by executing pure Elixir code. It can even spawn other agents. Since we're operating on raw BEAM processes, you can: - Communicate sync/async with it by sending messages - It can send messages back to you - It can spawn sub-agents, and thanks to BEAM's linked processes and reliability, if the parent fails, the child agents will be killed. If a child fails, it'll be restarted. - It supports hot code reloading - you can update tool implementations, swap agent behaviors, or add entirely new capabilities to running agents without restarting the VM, without dropping conversations, and without losing state. And many, many more. Go check out Legion's readme: github.com/dimamik/legion. #myelixirstatus @elixir_radar @elixirlang

DB InfraGo needed a rock-solid foundation for their product. They chose Elixir. Syncing 1,000 + parcel lockers at train stations across Germany, handling offline states, and resilient operation under changing network conditions. buff.ly/Vrvh5Hk #sponsored

Hi, friends! In the past 6 months @dashbit helped fund a part-time contributor for Numerical Elixir through @TheErlef. We're nearing Nx 1.0 and are looking to extend the funding! If you or your company use Nx in production, please consider contributing! every.org/erlang-ecosyst…
