I still feel like I shouldn’t be watching 18 films.

@jayforeman In Welsh I was taught (translated) “red and yellow and purple and blue… violet orange and green”, no idea how it goes in English

Can’t believe a channel crossing ended Rishi’s career and it wasn’t a small boat

@16leiba @thomasforth Was also going to suggest Carmarthen. Though the two tracks technically merge northeast of the station, it’s where the line terminates so this is rarely used

Decided to find the exception that proves the rule and go to a mainline station in Britain where you cross the track by walking across it. Much less common in Britain than in France or Italy.

@yacobg42 Blindsight by Peter Watts has a couple really great things going for it. It’s a sci-fi first contact story, with some really interesting ideas about consciousness and personhood, but also as a treat it has a scientific explanation for vampires

Holy shit this pissed people off. A lot. Gitcels are worse than the Vim weirdos. Rebase is fine. It's sometimes more work than merge, but never easier. In the end though you're squashing your PRs anyway so it _doesn't matter_ Strong git opinions is the biggest🚩

@Psythor Actual advice for truly high risk individuals: * Use a password manager * With two factor enabled * With a hardware key * Enable your phone OS's advanced security (and worse usability) more * Two factor everywhere possible * Enable Google Advanced Protection Program or similar

I feel like a "high risk" individual should be using a completely random password stored in a password manager, and ideally a hardware key for multi-factor authentication. Not relying on three memorable words...
Steven Swinford@Steven_Swinford

New cyber-security guidance for 'high-risk' individuals: * Use sequence of 3 random words to make password complex but easy to remember * Use unique passwords for accounts * Write down passwords and keep them safe or use a password manager * Use disappearing messages on Whatsapp

Dune and Poor Things both successful... the people clearly crave weird sci-fi and adaptations of the works of Scottish authors... it is time for movies based on The Culture
