Youth Council was amazing for me, not only did i gain confidence and make lots of new friends but i helped make a change in my community for young people! I highly recommend anyone to put their name forward🤍(someone needs to take over from me!!)

@msypcameron is giving closing remarks as todays joint meeting between @dgcouncil and @YouthCouncilDG is coming to an end and reflecting on his time with the Youth Council. That concludes the 3rd Joint Meeting.

Actions agreed by Communities group include: 1) Automatic enrolment for the under 22 bus travel card through schools (with parental permission) 2) Creating ataster card for 12-18 year olds that allow them access to 12 leisure, coaching, swimming or skating sessions a year

Tomorrow is the 3rd ever Joint Youth Council and @dgcouncil themed around young people! The meeting tomorrow will see actions created related to education, communities and economy and resources. These actions will benefit young people across the region! #YouthVoiceDG

8🧵. I didn’t know what i was coming into with Youth Council 2 and a half years ago, but coming out of it i can say i feel i’ve made a difference within my community and grown so much as a person and it has been such a great opportunity. I encourage any young person to do this!🤍

We were joined last night by @dgcouncil Chief Executive, Dawn Roberts - the Youth Council presented on the history of the organisation & heard from Dawn about her background, experience of D&G so far & her priorities moving ahead. Thank you to Dawn for joining us!
