@hannahliznqt I just moved two blocks from school. Loving the lifestyle change. I think you just have to accept that you’ll see kids and that you just have to smile, wave or say hi. I let the kids take the reigns on whether they want to engage or not

@mrhenrype I’m in my third year and just picked up a head of year role. I absolutely love it but it does sometimes take over other parts of the job. Definitely a lot more work but wouldn’t trade it for the world!

@missdcox You can measure student progress in content and skills but that doesn’t mean they are progressing in what matters - social and emotional skills. Data can’t be the only crucial piece of evidence influencing education - talk to people and hear their experiences

One of my students started writing little notes to herself in her independent notes & I told the class how good they were. Book checking now and another student has done this…. #TeamRE

@missgeog92 We had one teacher in high school who regularly didn’t turn up to one lesson a fortnight. The classroom didn’t have many windows so we just sat in the room and chilled all lesson.

Remember when we were at school we thought that if a teacher didn’t turn up within 15 mins we could go home? A) who made that up for it to become universally believed? B) why did we even have instances where there was no teacher?!
