NAME THAT YANK! In a 15 year career, this man played 37 games as a Yank. He is a 6x AS, 1x WS champ, led the league in 2B 2x, and RBIs 1x. He was traded for a player who would go on to have over 50 saves in a season. He played for four different clubs. A productive tenure in the Bronx wasn’t in the cards. This is the SECOND PLAYER of this week’s theme. Answers MAY NOT be hidden. No peeking!

NAME THAT YANK! (Difficult) In a 9 year career this 2nd overall draft pick played for 4 teams and was a Yankee for less than 10 games! He was once traded for a terrible person who happened to be a good pitcher. This LHB had 6 appearances at 1st base for us.

NAME THAT YANK! In a long 19 year career, this former Expo & Cub spent 6 respectable seasons with each of those clubs while only having 2 in pinstripes. Drafted out of Vanderbilt University & playing for Team USA, this RHP recorded 28 wins & 400+ IP in his two years as a Yankee. While his last name is the same as a beloved Yankees middle name, there is no relation.

NAME THAT YANK! In a 5 year career, he last played for the Yanks in ‘03, where he appeared in only 5 games. A Panama native, this 6’5” 250+ lb switch hitter hit less than 20 career homers. He is considered one of the greatest switch hitters to ever play in Japan where he hit 172 bombs. He was once traded by the Yankees at a young age to MON for a closer who won a WS against the Braves as a Yank. There is NO THEME this week. Answers MAY NOT be hidden. No peeking!

NAME THAT YANK! Catching behind a future manager & a young should be HoFer, this man only played in 5 games for the Yankees in his 3 years in pinstripes. Never posting a OPS+ above 40, he played for only two teams in his 3 year career. After the Yankees he was selected off waivers by two teams, not playing for the last one to select him. NAME THAT YANK! This Yankee’s 2nd round draft pick went to HS with a fellow future major leaguer. Was brought up several times due to injuries and he himself had back issues and suffered a concussion when hit in the mask by a foul ball! The man pitched once in a post season 16-1 loss to the Red Sox, and got into an altercation that cleared the benches with a future HOFer. In an 11 year career, he spent 8 in the majors with the Yanks. He only had 2 post season plate appearances. There is NO THEME this week. Answers MAY NOT be hidden. No peeking!

NAME THAT YANK! This CY winner had an ERA title, and had 20+ wins for 5 consecutive seasons, 2 of which he led the league in wins also consecutively. In his first year with us he had a career high IP, where he nearly won his second CY award which also would have been consecutive. He was neither a feline nor an aquatic animal. NAME THAT YANK! This 1x WS champ is a RHRP who was a Brave for 9 seasons. He is the third fastest recorded pitcher, clocked at 103 mph. Closing out nearly 300 games, he became a Yankee via trade mid season before finishing his career with a team he won the WS against. Giving up a 3 run HR to Leyritz to tie a post season game & change the momentum, as a Yankee he pitched in one post season game vs SEA where he allowed 3 Runs off 3 hits in .2 IP.
