Rio apparently “agreed terms” with Bayern on 26 May. Even if that is true, he was probably under the pretence that Slot would still be here next season. One conversation with Iraola and hearing what he says about young players (especially when Alex Scott can be in his ear), he’ll know the best career move will be to stay put.

@chrismyka015 Give up. If you still could not understand it was not slot doing the convincing but Richard Hughes and Edwards, then better don't put pressure on your mind

@Strangey81 @TheFootyFeed Man how could you find something so negative to say? He's speaking for his situation and him wanting his kid to have a normal life. When Comparing to others he means there are people in worse situation than him and they are not giving up.

Paul Scholes emotionally opening up on the challenges of having a child with "severe special needs" after refusing to answer a question on the podcast 'The Overlap'. The Manchester United legend has a son named Aiden who is 20 years old. Aiden was diagnosed with autism as a child and is non-verbal. "Just filmed an Overlap and we were asked the question. What has had the biggest impact on our lives, to which I couldn't answer even though I knew..." "Without question having a boy with severe special needs, wishing he was normal every single day and then realising how lucky I am when I see another family that are worse off than we are. A side to Scholesy that not many people know about, what a legend he is 👌

Andoni Iraola has already explained something that was a major problem under Arne Slot. Slot was often rigid and unwilling to adapt, seemingly blaming other teams for changing their style against them. Iraola prepped his team to deal with Man City's inverted fullbacks before the 1-1 draw that handed Arsenal the title, but had to adapt in 5 minutes. The result: City conceded first and Haaland's late equaliser came in the 94th min. Iraola said: "The setup for the other team, for example, against City. We were preparing for inverted fullbacks all the week. "Normally, they do it with Rico Lewis. They decided not to play with Rico Lewis. They played a plain 4-3-3 with no one inverted, so our tactical setup was not really prepared for a 4-3-3, but we have to change everything in four or five minutes, no more. "Because otherwise they are going to punish you. Sometimes you cannot communicate with the players because Premier League stadiums are quite loud and you have to talk to the one closest, and you don't know how the message is going to arrive to the other side. "Once you know each other it takes less time." I'm really excited to see how he takes the already gifted squad we have and takes them to new heights. I have a feeling Isak, Wirtz and Szobo are going to hit crazy heights under him.

@YassinHafez7 @AnfieldEdition @telegraaf Yeah we all know how Salah made a save, took the ball from defense, dribble past everyone and went on to score goals for us to win the league on his own.

🥇| @telegraaf: Arne Slot will receive €8m [£6.91m] after being sacked by Liverpool. His agent, Rafaela Pimenta, is trying to "extract everything possible".

@elninoloving @AnfieldEdition @telegraaf Salah generated shirts and merchandise sales that I am certain covers his entire wage bills. You dumb? Do you realise the kind of superstar he is? The money he generated for us. Now he is gone, we genuinely don't have a world class superstar that can generate income for us.

🎙️𝗤𝗨𝗢𝗧𝗘 - Yan Diomande clarifies his comments on Liverpool: “People made it out to be my dream club. But first and foremost, it’s my dad’s favourite club. It was always his great wish to see me there someday because he loves the atmosphere at Anfield. He always raved about Steven Gerrard. I was too young to see him play. We didn’t even have a TV at home for a long time. I have a lot of respect for Liverpool, but my dream club right now is Leipzig.” (via @BILD)

@AnfieldEdition @telegraaf The way it's written is so cheap. That's his right to get the compensation. He was sacked. Don't write stuff as if he's stealing from us.

@50shadesofLizie Why should we? The expectation has to be good football, good run in the cup competition and top 4 finish. Not expecting him to win titles right away but he has to get the team to compete.

With Iraola we have to lower our expectations. This is a manager who has never won anything. I'm not entirely confident with this appointment because I believe Liverpool is not a development project for unproven managers. …All I'm saying is I hope we are all ready to give him time?

@MelissaReddy_ nonsense. Enrique was approached by Barca because of his links to the club. He managed their b team for 3 years and Barca are known to give their b team managers a chance. As for Klopp, his achievements with Mainz got him the Dortmund job. Dortmund were not Fighting for much then

Liverpool want to be an aggressive, front-foot team led by someone who is all in, whose identity is intensity, who will immerse himself in the club through to the academy, and whose hard-working character will endear him to the city. That’s Andoni Iraola. Yes, there are risks. There usually always are bar very rare circumstances. Jürgen Klopp thought he was a risk because he had never worked outside of Germany. Looking at win percentages as a mark of appointing a new head coach/manager is nonsense. Klopp would have never been approached by Bayern Munich or joined Borussia Dortmund in that case. Luis Enrique would have never gone from Celta to Barcelona. It’s about what they’ve achieved relative to means, scaling that, plus their stylistic fit to the club and its ambitions.

@anfieldforge Diomande will sign for psg. He's showing all signs that he has chosen psg. Unfortunately for him, there's kravat and doue ahead of him there. Will be interesting how he copes with that.

If Diomande signs for PSG, his career will probably take off and Liverpool will end up regretting not paying the asking price. If he signs for Liverpool, he'll probably snap his Achilles at the World Cup. That's just our luck these days.
