I and @GreyGenetics and @GreyGeneticsPod are almost off the SMs entirely.... if I know there are soo many GC student surveys.. if they were listed on Grey Genetics' website, would people look there/take them...? #GeneChat

1/ I've spent the last 18 months investigating how our government reached the point of taking children away from their parents as a way to discourage migration to the United States. Here's my story about how and why it happened, and who's responsible.

If anyone wants a quick link to a petition for a call to NSGC to start taking Requests for Proposals from new firms to lobby the US Government for CMS recognition so that we might be able to turn our attention to lobbying for our patients, it's right here: chng.it/rPSbkmc2WD

@CptSean24 I have to use an electric kettle because I can't be trusted to be safe with/not forget the stovetop kind. Many of us who use them may just be more accident-prone. Or want water heated much faster. And/or have no room for a microwave...

‘The terrain of mothering is not limited to the people who give birth to children’ @agarbes ‘Raising children is not a private hobby, not an individual duty… It is a social responsibility, one that requires robust community support.’ @jiatolentino newyorker.com/books/under-re…

@BettyJa77533964 @Theresa_Chapple Don’t have a reference and would be nice if someone had one to share - but risks associated with abortion generally considered (much) lower than those associated with giving birth.
English

@Theresa_Chapple Is there any data on the number of women who die because of abortion procedure?
English

@katiesagaser I could see practices adopting this for patients when reimbursement rates are low -
Medicaid. And encouraging patients with private insurance to come to even more appts *you never know*
English

Reduced visit schedules may be appropriate for those with low health literacy, food/housing insecurity, and more - in effect, consider when visits are more of a burden vs a blessing, and use shared decision making models to determine visit frequency and modality #ACOG2022
English

@katiesagaser Always took up at least half a day to go to a mostly pointless appt. (extra fun to travel with sciatica.) Should be able to check weight/bp at home or at a local pharmacy. Although then they couldn’t bill $$ for an appt.
English

@katiesagaser My OB apologized to me at one of my visits and said she really didn’t know what to offer me, that in whatever Scandinavian country, they only have have X number of appts.

Just watched and was also disappointed they couldn’t throw up a screen or two at the end… sudden cardiac death… often genetic, often preventable.

I LOVED tick, tick… BOOM! but I wish they had mentioned Marfan Syndrome at the end, the condition that they believe caused Larson’s fatal aortic aneurysm. So many people die before they can even be diagnosed so this was a missed opportunity to raise awareness. #TickTickBoom

@Lomquiche @The_GrammarGeek French ppl at lycée looking at lined paper from US: how can you write on that….?
English

@The_GrammarGeek I was from Hertfordshire in the UK but spent time in France in a lycée.
French cahiers are interesting because of the various layouts inside.

@chayasays i think everyone probably looks their worst on camera. and seeing a little icon of yourself on a zoom call is a bit like hearing a recording of your voice (hate hearing mine) - just..not..great.. and it takes a while to get used to a new haircut. but i think it's beautiful.
English

@elo81 I feel like it looked better in a mask than it did unmasked on my Zoom calls later that day, which...? But perhaps that's just because noone looks great on a Zoom call, amirite?
