One thing I quickly learned as a child in public schooling is that teachers are not pleasantly surprised when you know something beyond what they do.
They really, really don't like that one bit.

i wonder how the Japanese translate from languages that dont have politeness cultures. do they force polite languages, or is it not unusual to just translate "as is"? is it like a thing where if you DONT have politeness somewhere in there it just doesnt sound right

@Vanyathalias @NEWSTYLEgrhj @HSGARAGE1 From what I heard from a japanese teaching in youtube (Kaname Naito, check him out), a good chunk of japanese will appreciate forgoing keigo, but some will still take offense. I believe the closer to ~50 the more likely they dislike it
