@HerbsandDirt Actually, I was born in 1959 and I had an autoimmune disorder as a child and my husband, whom I went to school with, had Autism (Asperger’s). So in just my classroom, two that I know of in school in the 60’s and 70’s. I also had severe allergies and so did he.

I was in elementary school in the 70’s. My experience: Did not know ONE autistic child. No one had a gluten allergy. No one had peanut allergies. No one had milk allergies. No one was bouncing off the walls from ADD or ADHD. No one had autoimmune diseases at that age. No inhalers on the playground. Anyone else?

Teaching young children to talk about death prepares them and teaches them to deal with this stressor we all will experience. ‘When Auntie Died’ is a tool to do just that.

The article by Moncrieff and Horowitz stating depression is not chemical but rather an inability to process or handle a life stressor is game changing!!!
