The promise was banking the unbanked and giving people financial sovereignty Instead we got: 🔸 50+ centralized L2s that fragmented liquidity and made VCs and insiders rich 🔸 UX so bad it's cost billions in user losses and scared away mainstream adoption 🔸 A coordination nightmare where moving assets between chains is insecure and requires a roadmap And most of those L2s will die within 2 years because they offer nothing unique and just three L2’s account for 90% of all activity Base alone counts for ~60% So improved? Certainly not. Harmed or rekt? Without a doubt Now some will point to the wins 3,000 ecosystem developers $160B in stablecoins (all centralized) The largest DeFi ecosystem But the numbers aren’t anything to celebrate so don’t let them fool you… 3k devs sounds impressive until you realize Meta alone has 26,000 engineers. Google has over 70k. A single Web2 company has 8x the developer firepower of the entire Ethereum ecosystem! Not just Ethereum alone because that’s only ~180 devs. The entire ecosystem! Also $160B in stablecoins may sound like a lot but it's a rounding error in global finance And most of it sits in centralized DeFi or CEX wallets, certainly not with the unbanked Let’s not forget it’s also entirely controlled by centralized entities that can freeze, burn, or wipe at any given time. So much for those Web3 ideals 🤨 And before anyone says I'm just hating, this isn't about Ethereum versus other chains This is about what we're building FOR and the entire point of Web3 Clearly something many have forgotten since I had two people in my comments this morning arguing decentralization isn’t that important. What are we even doing here if that’s the case?!?

@StaniKulechov $50 million to $35,912. That is so insane. Yeah, you need a more aggressive friction pattern than just a checkbox if they are about to lose over $100,000 in slippage. "Yo, bro. The fuck you doing?" Type "I will lose all my money" to proceed.

Earlier today, a user attempted to buy AAVE using $50M USDT through the Aave interface. Given the unusually large size of the single order, the Aave interface, like most trading interfaces, warned the user about extraordinary slippage and required confirmation via a checkbox. The user confirmed the warning on their mobile device and proceeded with the swap, accepting the high slippage, which ultimately resulted in receiving only 324 AAVE in return. The transaction could not be moved forward without the user explicitly accepting the risk through the confirmation checkbox. The CoW Swap routers functioned as intended, and the integration followed standard industry practices. However, while the user was able to proceed with the swap, the final outcome was clearly far from optimal. Events like this do occur in DeFi, but the scale of this transaction was significantly larger than what is typically seen in the space. We sympathize with the user and will try to make a contact with the user and we will return $600K in fees collected from the transaction. The key takeaway is that while DeFi should remain open and permissionless, allowing users to perform transactions freely, there are additional guardrails the industry can build to better protect users. Our team will be investigating ways to improve these safeguards going forward.

For years, I was all in on mass adoption for all, pushed hard for people to get in, build, and make it in this space. But looking at the stats now, crypto has turned into more of a straight-up gamble than actual investing in blockchain tech. According to actual data, 98%+ are either losing or making peanuts. The same insiders, whales, and players with the edge keep winning - front-running, snipers, insider moves, dumping early. It's sickening. The corrupted house always wins, and most of us are just feeding it. Then I've seen so many founders and projects fail because the crypto community has shiny object syndrome. One day, everyone's all in when they are getting freebies, the next week they're chasing the next hot meme, airdrop or trend. No loyalty, no long-term belief like the old days, just jumping ship for the new shiny thing. That kills real projects. They can't build when the crowd moves on every new hype cycle weekly. Founders burn out, communities fracture, and good ideas die quietly. Don't get me wrong, I still believe in the technology. The speed, the potential, the decentralized vision, and the real communities are still there. So I'm shifting focus hard. Outside of a couple of memes I still support for the community vibe, I'm going all-in on RWAs. Real World Assets are the future of crypto. They bring actual value - real companies, real assets, real stability. They might not moon 1000x overnight as some old memes did, but that's okay. They don't need to. They're built to last, to grow steadily, to give the space the foundation it actually needs instead of another casino run. I'm not quitting crypto. I'm doubling down on what I think actually works long-term. Real projects. Real utility. Real companies building. That's where the future is. What do you think?
