@yashar It doesn’t have to cost so much. Problem is supply doesn’t meet the demand, so it ends up costing more. It is totally possible to lower costs - we’re a part of an ecosystem that is trying to do just that.

NEWS Former President Trump says that if he becomes president again, the U.S. government will either fund IVF treatments or mandate that insurance companies cover them. First, there is typically a significant amount of opposition to mandates on coverage within the Republican Party. Second, given the expense of IVF treatments, this would mean an expenditure of billions of dollars annually by the federal government. Approximately 326,000 women received at least one cycle of IVF treatment in 2021, according to the CDC. Even using the most conservative estimate of the cost of one IVF treatment cycle with medication (let’s say $25,000), that would mean over $8 billion annually. Over 50% of women require more than one cycle of IVF.

@MathewLeonardi Should also work the other way around. Every endometriosis patient deserves a full fertility evaluation. Too many patients don’t until it’s too late. Understanding your options early will lead to better outcomes.
