Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno came to London during the state visit with two investment asks. A 90 metre deep seaport ready for development. And an electricity partnership as Nigeria’s power market deregulates to state level. The federal deals get the headlines. The states are where delivery happens. Full interview on Channels Business Global.

@yorubachic They say every attack is a confession. when Ibo dominates any company outside their territory, the professional benefits for outsiders is almost zero. It makes sense for Yoruba to dominate in area populate.

What pisses me off about bigotry against Yorùbá people on this app is not the idiotic posters but the amount of likes that accompany it. A lot of you on this app are closet bigots and still come on here to gaslight us when we point it out. You're all bigots. But also cowards.

The Governor of a state will build infrastructure, and people from another Region will criticise it and speak poorly of it. They will now wait for their own Governor to build something that doesn't even meet the standards of what they've been criticising, and they will start praising it, making it look like no one has ever done better, if others criticise their Governor. Then it becomes a problem. They play the victim. They poke others and then wait to be poked, so they can play the victim. People like this are the kind you keep at arm's length.

Listen to this and you'll feel sorry for all the young people who are being rallied against Tinubu's reforms. FX subsidy is a policy Tinubu could have easily continued and these same men and cronies would have been making millions of dollars from it weekly like it was in the past. At least this was the song on the street and the lips of almost everyone just some few years ago. Today, just 2 years after this anomaly and huge corruption drain was decisively corrected by this president, the ever gullible and malleable youths are being deceived to rally against the reforms that should be of huge benefits to them and their future generations if they know the right rats to chase. It's even ironical that the Otedola and several other elites they're pouring out their anger on today for supporting Tinubu could have been very huge beneficiaries of a pegged Naira and petrol subsidies if President Tinubu continued with them. In the history of fighting corruption in Nigeria, there's no greater war against corruption than these twin policies President Tinubu stamped his foot on, but here we are...time will tell.

@ARISEtv This Wigwe story is quite a story. But this reminds me of an interview with Bode George a few years ago.

You are a fool. The president should unilaterally deduct 10% of state revenue as what? Do you understand the constitutional provisions that guide the Federation account? Is your governor blind, incompetent or so stupid that he can't take our of the FAAC accrued to your state to do what is necessary in transportation? Is transportation on the exclusive list? Why do you need the president to withhold funds from a governor to buy buses that even LG chairmen can buy. You guys are morons. Poorly educated beings.
Dayo@No_useam1234

If your president had any foresight, he would passing an executive order deducting at least 10% of any increased revenue for states to implement mandatory public transit systems else they won't get those funds.

@fimiletoks We need to decentralise the transmission grid amd have micro smart grids. This will ensure high stability of the system. We have more than 10000MW Gen Capacity by limited severely by transmission.

There are no simple measures to get to 10,000MW. Quit the retarded talk. It cost an average of $1.5m to generate 1MW and you will need $15bn or more to generate 10,000MW. Money don't grow on trees. If you know the simple measures, you won't be faffing around on social media.
Bakare Tobi@BakareBigBoy

Nigeria is a country of very unintelligent people. I’m ashamed for us. There are simple measures to get Nigeria to 10,000 MW. But we are more fraud minded than we are productivity minded.

The Southern support that ST thinks he will get for his father is probably more realistic in the SS than in the SE but Lagos politics enjoy this fascination with wooing SE votes. How many election cycles do you need before drawing your conclusions?

@femiadebimpe You may not change their view/support, but it is still important to engage them. They would claim they were neglected and use that as justification for their animosity toward BAT. Your action is simply to place it on record that you made the effort to reach out.

We tried this in three election cycles in my part of Surulere then. It is a waste of time & resources. Their political worldview is blatantly anti SW & no campaign can erase that

@femiadebimpe At times you need some performative postures. They know they don't need the South East but must engage them anyway just to fulfil all righteousness.

Another morning to remind you that we will all enjoy deregulated petrol and FX prices together from now till eternity no matter how much tantrums you throw on the internet. We all asked for them daily for 8yrs. World class economists were taking turns in TV studios to preach this gospel. We all agreed with them that's the only way the Nigerian economy can grow. Electricity deregulation will join the groove any moment, brace up as the party is over.

LASG needs to create a bond for BRT transport and enter into a PPP-type deal. The number of busses, they have is not enough for the demand they receive.

@0xkitng People often get angry at late-night police checkpoints. One driver was furious at 5 a.m. on Lagos Road simply because an officer stopped his vehicle. Yet that same process could be what rescues a kidnap victim.

I saw a video of the Federal Fire Service inspecting buildings for fire safety certificates and compliance requirements. Then I looked at the comment section. Many Nigerians were asking what the certificate was even needed for. Others were saying the government just wants money. The mental state of Nigerians when things are comfortable is the real baseline. The loud demand for good governance that appears after a disaster is often performative. It is an emotional reaction to consequences, not a consistent belief in the systems that prevent those consequences. Because on an average day, many Nigerians actively resist the very systems that make societies safe.
Cinderella Man@Osi_Suave

My biggest issue with Nigeria is the complacency and people refusing to do their jobs. I woke up this morning to a video of 10 people trapped in an elevator for over 40 minutes in a school in Banana Island. A school that charges millions but won't have a standby elevator engineer knowing that we have power cuts That the state emergency service had to step in makes my blood boil. Cos what was the school doing. No one was arrested School is not sealed Just complacency and bullshit until the next tragedy happens.
