Sounds like a total lack of actual biblical knowledge, ignorance about the fact Jesus was written about 700 years before his birth and the fact that old and new testaments have over 300,000 interconnections. Jesus Christ was a real man, he lived a life people wrote about and those writings have survived unchanged. He died, was crucified under pontius Pilate, rose from the dead and was witnessed by more than 500 eyewitnesses. Jesus Christ is God.

The argument presents a false dilemma by assuming Jesus’ prophecy must refer only to His final visible return or else Christianity is false. In passages like Matthew 24, Jesus speaks about the destruction of Jerusalem, the judgment on Israel, and His ultimate return in ways that are closely connected. Many Christians understand “this generation will not pass away” as referring primarily to the destruction of the Temple in AD 70, which did happen within the lifetime of His contemporaries. The language about “coming on the clouds” comes from Daniel 7 and often refers to divine authority and judgment rather than a physical descent to earth. Biblical prophecy regularly uses symbolic and apocalyptic imagery to describe real historical events without becoming false or meaningless. Saying prophetic language is metaphorical does not mean it is invalid any more than poetic language in the Psalms is invalid. The objection also ignores that Old Testament prophets frequently described national judgments using cosmic imagery like falling stars and darkened suns. Once the Jewish apocalyptic context is understood, the supposed contradiction disappears and the argument against Christianity loses its force.

Many Christians are seething and many are sputtering jibberish since my post. And it demonstrates the fine tuning of designed Christianity. So I'm gonna post it again. Please repost as much as possible.
P1: If Christianity is true, Jesus cannot lie.
P2: Jesus stated he would return before his contemporaries died.
P3: Jesus did not return before his contemporaries died.
C: Christianity is not true.
P1: A biblical prediction is either a literal prophecy or a metaphor.
P2: If it is a literal prophecy, it failed (which makes Jesus mistaken).
P3: If it is a metaphor, it is not an actual prophecy (which invalidates the prophetic claim).
P4: Jesus cannot be mistaken, and his prophetic claims cannot be invalid.
C: The Christian theological position is self-contradictory.

Well to be clear, sleep means you dead lol. And there’s also a verse that says to be absent from the mind is to be present with the Lord. So there is “heaven” which is a temporary place we must go while we wait for the new creation, but for a Christian, heaven isn’t the ultimate goal, it’s the new creation.

@GreenmanTe75684 @emetfaith @sola_chad I'm uncomfortable with the idea of "soul sleep." I'm not saying it doesn't happen; I'm just saying it's an unnecessary extrapolation from scripture.
It's likely that the authors who spoke of this in the Bible were using the best words they had to describe the situation.

@SawtelleAn5682 Dumb dumb huh? Admit you’re wrong and find another thing to hate God for. Makes sense. Total and complete ignorance

"Hire 12 more Indians" is a funny way of saying "violating labour laws by underpaying my extended family and refusing to hire locals." Turning a gas station into a chain by exploiting your own community isn't capitalism, it's a family guild.
Imagine bragging that your ancestors fought for a visa while mocking the people who fought for the actual civil rights, labour laws, and minimum wage that keep your tech empire from legally paying you $2 an hour. You're welcome, by the way
English

Indians are literally the most American citizens on the planet, fight me.
We show up to this country, work 80 hour weeks like it’s normal, then use the remaining 4 hours to start a business, hire 12 more Indians, and turn one gas station into a chain while y’all are busy ‘finding yourself’ at Burning Man and crying about capitalism.
We came here with $8 in our pocket and a dream, now we’re running motels, tech empires, pharmacies, and 7-Elevens like it’s our national sport. Your ancestors fought for freedom? Ours fought for H-1B visas and still built more wealth in 20 years than most natives do in 3 generations

@queenadams26208 @hotahotasa45082 No man had ever even seen a European white man when pretty much any of the Bible was written so as usual, you are decieved
English

@GreenmanTe75684 @Jeff_Rosenbury @sola_chad Exactly. We all “sleep” until the resurrection but to a dead person it will feel like they closed their eyes and woke up in heaven. Tell me if you sleep 4 or 10 hours can you tell the diff when you wake up? No, you have to check a clock.
English

@emetfaith @Jeff_Rosenbury @sola_chad Those who have fallen asleep refers to believers in Jesus Christ who have died.
In both the Old and New Testaments, as well as in broader ancient Jewish and Graeco-Romanliterature, sleep was commonly used as a euphemism for death.
English

They did not the Bible existed for a thousand or more years in the form of ancient manuscripts. You think they wrote all that? No, not hey finalized the cannon by combining the currently used Hebrew Torah and New Testament manuscripts into “cannon” and separated books that could not be verified into the deuterocanonical books that they STILL have today. You know nothing about church or Bible history. You want to discredit it because if God is real, than you are in trouble.
English

@emetfaith @HoldenCCole You’re on drugs or something. Of course the Catholic Church created the Bible. Your church didn’t . You think it magically appeared ?

@JonahOwens81 No, it's not. It was founded with no established religion.

@Jeff_Rosenbury @GreenmanTe75684 @sola_chad Lazarus was in the same sleep we will be “present with Christ” but we sleep until the return of Christ.
“For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.”
— 1 Thessalonians 4:14
English

@GreenmanTe75684 @emetfaith @sola_chad So you say. Yet when Lazarus was raised from the dead, it wasn't scripture that brought him back. It was believing in Christ.
Also, should the Jewish community have shunned Lazarus because they aren't supposed to talk to the dead?
