@apoorv_bh89 I understand your annoyance here, but it can be helpful to get a general sense of an ecosystem before doing the important work to better understand and find the winning team. Maybe there is a distinction between bad market maps and more thoughtful deep dives?

Finally as an entrepreneur I HATE market maps (I guess it’s obvious) because of their dehumanizing nature “Oh look my life’s work got turned into a goddamn logo in a box that a 4 year old could have made with animal crackers & Duplo but apparently we have to consider them smart”

Honestly market maps in general are just dumb. They are literally SEEKING market beta & not useful for finding alpha that comes from the distinction inherent in companies that gives investors any differentiated returns. “Ooo look let’s categorize 30 companies into a bucket” 🤣

Too many early climate companies claim DoD SBIR or DOE dollars as ARR. These are helpful nondilutive grants/R&D funding but not a long term contract w/ option for renewal. Not worth undermining credibility (and churn) by mischaracterizing this revenue.
