At Esterházy Palace (Austria), Kirill Petrenko, Gautier Capuçon, and the Berliner Philharmoniker follow in the footsteps of the First Viennese School: after an overture by Joseph Haydn, the orchestra will perform the Second Symphony by his pupil, Ludwig van Beethoven. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations with cellist Gautier Capuçon offer a more Mozartian take on Classicism - and Igor Stravinsky’s Pulcinella even looks back to the Baroque era.

I am completely gutted by today’s result but incredibly proud of our season. We’ve come a long way in five years and this was the best result in our 150+ year history. More to do. But for now, we have so much to be proud of, Reds.
