@YashshviD I have a friend who always write "😭😭😭" when she posts about children dying in Gaza or something but to me that is a laughing emoji. I mean, it's a crying emoji for sure but a lot of us use it as an extension of the 😂-emoji.

Emojis have become the first global language? But hey 💀☠️ does this stand for humor or death?🫡 Different interpretations in different cultures/generations!

Those who make it to the "A-list" of their fields are just lucky to have ended up there. Sure, if you work harder than everyone else, make connections etc. you're probably gonna be very successful. But not the best and most renowned. There's a randomness to it. When you make yourself top tier material, you're merely a candidate for the big leagues. There is no "final push", it's just pure luck and chance from there on out. Not saying it's not worth it though. Thought I'd might share this for those who want to be the next James Clear or someone of similar status.

Loosing weight means making compromises. This (unfortunately) includes - Cutting out enjoyable foods - Maintaining a strict frame during social events - Reducing commitment to fun, but energy-draining activities Eliminate the obstacles to success.

You don't need to eat. Seriously. Overslept and missed breakfast? Travel messed up your meal schedule? Blood sugar will stabilize. Mood will recover. You'll suffer more from catastrophizing about the damn thing.

@vikojutila AI is indistinguishable from low effort writing. And it might get people a few steps forward before stagnation - at what do they do then, with their underdeveloped writing skills?

If you use AI exclusively to post online. You MIGHT get followers, but does your mind develop anywhere... 🧐 Maybe the right question is, why are you here?

@_CharliePalmero I get "travel cravings" to be honest. Somehow the body recognizes when I'm on the move, and immediately starts to ponder when the next meal is gonna be.

@vikojutila We are taught that we absolutely need to eat every 4 hours, and 6 hours is survival mode. At least I had to learn it for my self that's not the case.

@emiltholander Its cheat code when you realize the hunger comes in waves and you can ride it down. It funny to hear when people really have this kind of realization in their adulthood: wait, I didn't die even I didnt eat last 12 hours

HARASSED a service worker today 🥳👏🙌 Ordered 6 diet cokes for a simple meal. The waitress didn’t know that I was emptying the diet cokes into a large bottle in my bag. She was ASTOUNDED by the amount of Diet Coke I “drank” hehe I asked for the bill, paid with cash I also had the wallet with £1,000 in, she was shocked and PERPLEXED. I told her “it’s to buy Diet Coke”. Then she said it would a minute to get some change, I told her to keep it and I had to go because tescos is doing a limited clubcard deal on Diet Coke” Before she could react out of her state of confusion, I asked for a Diet Coke to go. Total SHOCK on her end. Then I tipped over 50% and gave some Afghanistan money for no reason. Normalize messing with service staff and then tipping huge amounts.

I quit my steady, comfortable job! And for the first time, it doesn’t terrify me. In fact, I kind of love it. If you had told me a year ago to embrace uncertainty, I would have laughed. I was the one who needed to know every step before taking the first one. But the lesson I have learnt is: Not knowing isn’t a problem you solve! It’s a reality you live with. And when you stop fighting it, it stops feeling like an enemy.

⚠️Your physical well-being has a far greater impact on your mental state than you may have realized. Years of study suggests there's a strong link between metabolic issues and mental health disorders. To break down what this actually means, let's take a look at four key markers of metabolic health that are closely tied to mental health conditions. 🚩Insulin resistance 🔸Insulin resistance occurs when the body's ability to use the insulin hormone decreases, hampering glucose metabolism. 🔸This condition is a well-known root cause of type 2 diabetes, but its mental implications are less known to the public eye. 🔸Insulin resistance significantly increases the risk of developing mood disorders and major depression. 🚩Unbalanced gut microbiome 🔸The gut microbiome is a balanced ecosystem of bacteria that interact with your body in various ways. 🔸There is a bidirectional connection between the digestive system and the central nervous system, often referred to as the gut-brain axis. 🔸This means that changes in your mental state impact your gut - and vice versa. 🔸When the harmony of the gut microbiota is disrupted, there is an increased risk of developing chronic fatigue, mood disorders, anxiety, and depression, among other conditions. 🚩Oxidative stress 🔸When there is an imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants in your system, the cells are damaged by a mechanism called oxidative stress. 🔸Free radicals are naturally present in your body, but can be harmful if they build up excessively. 🔸Antioxidants ensure this doesn't happen by limiting the accumulation of free radicals. 🔸Both are natural byproducts of the conversion of food into energy. 🔸The brain is especially vulnerable to oxidative stress due to its high density of fat-based tissue and extensive oxygen consumption. 🔸This has prompted scientists to investigate the connection to mental disorders. 🔸The research is limited, but has found that oxidative stress is associated with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. 🚩Inflammation 🔸Inflammation is produced by the immune system to protect the body from infections, injuries, and diseases. 🔸However, poor metabolic health induces a subtle yet persistent inflammatory response in your system. 🔸The evidence suggests that inflammation contributes to the development of depression and is also linked to bipolar disorder and seasonal affective disorder. ............................... The common denominator of these metabolic indicators is that they are heavily influenced by your way of life. This includes the food you eat, how often you exercise, the quality of your sleep cycle, and your stress level. In other words, taking care of your physical health should be your number one priority in order to prevent mental illness and treat existing conditions.
