@Khodatii @MNateShyamalan They’re for easier manure management, the floors are much drier which is good for hoof health. There’s also a rubber top for the girls because it puts a lot less stress on their joints than just concrete. Properly designed slats are not bad for the cows.

@Tuukka97 @MNateShyamalan Those numbers are a way of tracking holsteins, called NLID if you’re curious. It’s how, in case of something like a disease outbreak, we can easily identify and trace cows. 1758 just means she is our 1758th cow we have tagged since starting our farm in 1952, she is ~7 years old
