@emmasjudgment Nah I disagree. Yu-yu had some impact; He and Trickstar reconnected Earth and Planet Cray. Yu-yu inspired some people, more notably Hikari/Erika and Akina to play Vanguard. He was also a positive influence on some of the Dress cast. I find Akina's fumbling worse due to the (+)

i'll hold off until this season ends but my consensus so far is that the fumbling of Akina somehow managed to be worse and more apparent than the fumbling of Yu-yu

@BenryBrand i stand by Tag Teams just not being a problem, with the real issues lying with the broken generic accel (Welder, Koko/Mountain, Zacian/Saucer) that existed at the time

Went down a game design rabbit hole today, so here we are at my favourite card of all time: Say what you will about the 3 prize era, but they were very cleverly designed. (as was much of Sun and Moon) High damage is gated behind a) 3 energy and b) a condition. Linear attack lets the player tactically set up the conditional component of calamitous slash, and allows them to still be engaged and interacting with their opponent while the energy component of their big attack gets set up. One weakness of this play pattern of a 2 turn minimum for setting up big KOs, is that its difficult to remove your opponents threats any quicker than 2 turns. To make up for that - GG End GX exists. It's a clever way to deal with snowballed tempo from the opponent, without the overly strong benefit of prize cards. The resulting pattern is a card that allows measured, tactical control of the board. Very responsive with plenty of interaction points for both players Thematically - tag teams always had flavour components from each of their combined pokemon, with this being the best example of it imo. Linear attack feels fast like garchomp, can access all zones, and gg end feels like Giratina (except for the lack of the lost zone). Take a look at more tag teams and see if you can find play/flavor patterns.

Ok so alot of people have gripes with triggers right? And one piece Is basically that. But apparently once you remove them the game becomes boring and repetitive as fuck.

Overlord and bav stay in neutral as losing roar is felt for both. Liael Draconis gets way more viable which is a massive loss for Blang. Can swap Minerva and prison’s placement, it was close for both.

Thought on the changes with the restriction list and wanted to post my winners and losers tier list for the competitive environment. So excited to go further into the format.

@diila2field @MNoirin the point of the deluxe arc was for akina & erika to find a purpose in vanguard and tbh life as a whole, they devoted everything to protecting the person they cared the most about, and thus once they accomplished that were left aimless

I honestly think including Ruka in season 4 of the anime was pointless... she barely had any character development and then, boom, the season ends and she's gone?
