This is a difficult but important question. I will give you an answer to that. The Sacrament of Confession is protected by the Seal of Confession (Canon 983 §1). This seal is absolute. It states that a priest cannot reveal what he hears in confession - under any circumstance - no matter how grave the sin or how personal the harm. Even in the instance you cited where a penitent goes to a priest to confess the killing of the priest’s own parent or sibling, the priest is morally and canonically forbidden from reporting it to the police or revealing it to anyone. To do so would be a grave violation punishable by latae sententiae excommunication - automatic excommunication. The priest must carry that knowledge to the grave. However, absolution is not automatic. For absolution to be valid, the penitent must show true contrition, a sincere repentance, and a firm purpose of amendment - including willingness to face justice and make restitution where possible. The priest can strongly urge the penitent to surrender to civil authorities, but he cannot force it or reveal it himself. This discipline protects the sacred space of the confessional, where the sinner stands before God. The priest is not there as a judge or representative of civil law, but as a minister of divine mercy. In the confessional, the priest serves mercy - while always calling the sinner to truth, repentance, and responsibility.

Something happened to me in 2009. Something i still struggle with, till this very day. I was only 10. Young, beautiful, growing so fast and getting curvier by the day. We had this really close family friend at the time. His name is Tobi. Tobi was my pastor's son at the time. He was very close to my elder brother. They were so inseperable. One Saturday morning, my siblings and I went to church for the usual instrument rehearsals. It rained that day. Into the rehearsals, I felt really pressed and excused myself to use the ladies. What I didn't know was that Tobi was trailing me to the toilet. (He obviously had his eyes on me all along). I got to the ladies and it was locked. I had to make use of the backyard and there came Tobi. He pushed me down right at the spot, and tried to force himself on me, right in church. This is someone my family took as their own son. My brother's closet friend and a pastor's son. I don't know how I got the strength. I don't know where it came from, but it came. I pushed him with the very last strength I could find and quickly made my way out. I got back to the main building like nothing happened. I was extremely shocked, traumatized and norm. I never mentioned it to anyone till we were about to relocate. I had to meet his mum. But the woman sounded cold and unbothered. Then, I was already a teenager, wiser and smarter. I felt taken advantaged of. Even though he didn't succeed, I felt it really deep. My mind was full of "WHAT IFS..?" My body felt "circumsized" for years. My emotions were bottled up. Nothing about love made sense. That singular act took away emotions from me at such tender age. I was only ten. I h@ted the opposite s£x as a result of this. I saw him on the screen during a church program transmission. He is now a Barrister. Today made it 17 years since I escaped r@pe from a close family friend.
