@courosa of course, anyone well-versed in streaming technology knows that anything is playable at any time. But… I wonder if this is a means of garnering community around the music. Is it a way to get people to engage with the station and serendipitously with other listeners?

The local radio station allows you to sign up for text notifications whenever a certain song plays on air. Serious question - what demographic does this serve? People who still use discmans?

@floydtheteach @alfiekohn I would tend to agree. Some students want the teacher to establish ‘boundaries’ for everyone’s sake. The key point in your tweet is “tone”. I don’t use “thou shalt not” language and more things like “let’s be curious together” and “let’s respect each other’s learning”.

@alfiekohn I think the bigger issue is the tone & attitude that the teacher starts the year with. Having rules doesn't inherently demotivate learners.

You're a student and on the first day of class you're handed a list of rules (on which you had no input) and penalties for violating them. Excited about learning yet?
