I’ve officially participated in all 40 governance proposals on Magic Eden after casting my votes on the latest live ones. For me, this marks more than just activity, it reflects a strong belief in community-driven decisions/initiatives. The first phase delivered by @Eden_Magico set a solid standard. Their ability to execute on key objectives showed what effective governance can look like. I’m genuinely looking forward to even more execution in Phase II. I voted in favor of all the current live proposals. However, the one I’m most excited about is @MagicEdenNG because of my direct involvement and the potential it has to expand community reach and impact. That said, there’s a concern we can’t ignore: Governance participation is declining. We’ve gone from: 🔹1000+ participants 🔹to 800 🔹to 700 🔹and now below 500 Based on the last 7 completed proposals, the highest voter turnout was 429 participants. That’s over a 50% drop from peak participation. This trend suggests that while governance is active, engagement is dropping, and that’s something worth addressing. A lot of changes have happened this year, and they’ve clearly impacted the community. The community will adapt as Magic Eden’s plans begin to align, but there’s still a need to maintain what previously worked for those who continue to believe in the ecosystem. As @PapiChuloGrim previously mentioned, there are currently no direct rewards for voting. However, he also hinted at the possibility of future surprises. Surprise incentives could help bring participation back. Is the governance system working effectively? Partially. The structure works, proposals are being delivered, but declining participation shows there’s a gap in sustained community engagement. What would I improve? 🔹Introduce surprise incentives for voters 🔹Make participation feel more impactful and rewarding for frequent participants. 8 days left to vote on the latest proposals. About 6 months ago, @Val_KomicsART DMed me about the @MagicEdenNG proposal he was building with @CaptainJaspiro. After hearing the vision, I was genuinely excited. I see strong potential for Magic Eden to become a major player in Nigerians Web3 life through this initiative, so I locked in with the team. The proposal was submitted last month, about 5 months later. Why take 5 months for something that could be written in days? Simple: execution > speed. The proposal has been ready for a while, but we spent time simulating and refining it to ensure we can deliver on every promise. A lot of discussions on Discord and X went into figuring out the best approach. We’ve also been inspired by what @MagicLabHQ ,@Eden_Magico , @real_magicmerch and @CatchMEoutsyde are building, and we want to contribute to that momentum.
