@Andrewsarfu @kimheller3 First of all congratulations on admitting it was indeed criminal. Secondly white people experience 1.3% poverty in this country whereas blacks 50%. It's institutional. They own 78% property and blacks 4%. Institutional. You inherited your ancestors blood money.

Apartheid South Africa was declared a crime against humanity yet white “ South Africans “ have never repented or offered reparations. Imagine if Elon Musk had put his energies into fighting for a truly just and equal society rather than fighting against the new economic redress in democratic South Africa…….

@Bizzy_88 @Organique YES - ironically, that approach still ends up benefiting Elon Musk by driving traffic and engagement on X while trying to defend the revolution.

@empangeni @Organique YES in capital letters, simply because the capitalist is using X to destroy the revolution. Therefore, we're going to use the very same X to defend the revolution.

@kimheller3 Sorry to disappoint you, Kim, but blacks dominate South Africa’s economy - you’re a delusional dinosaur grandma still stuck in the apartheid fantasy.

@Thuso1Africa Why do you call everyone a racist? You’re diluting the meaning of the word. Stop throwing it around so carelessly - it cheapens a serious accusation and makes you look foolish.

@DesBailes Desmond just loves the white enclave of Cape Town run by the DA while pretending the rest of the country is all about racism. Never trust a white liberal.

We black South Africans have managed the country for over 30 years. The power to fundamentally overhaul our economic structure is ours. Enough with the excuses and constant complaining. It’s time to build businesses and pull our people out of poverty through hard work and enterprise.

South Africa is probably the only country which uses a minority group of less than 8% as an economic benchmark hence half of the population survives on social grants and it will remain so until the entire economic structure is overhauled.

One thing about Herman Mashaba, he’s been very clear that he doesn’t support race-based empowerment policies. He pushes for inclusivity because he believes poverty doesn’t have a colour… hunger doesn’t ask if you’re black, white, or anything else before it hits. His argument, much like what people say about Elon Musk’s views on merit and opportunity, is that systems should uplift based on need and ability, not race. He believes real empowerment should focus on fixing inequality at its root, education, jobs, and entrepreneurship, so that everyone who is struggling, regardless of background, gets a fair shot.

🇿🇦 South African President Cyril Ramaphosa says that the country will not abandon its DEI policies, known as “Black Economic Empowerment (BEE).” “Those who say BEE and affirmative action must stop are just dreaming,” he said. South Africa has strict laws that mandate race-based hiring practices. A new law called the Employment Equity Amendment Act sets hiring targets for 2025–2030 across 18 economic sectors. Some workforce targets aim for 90–96% of employees to come from designated groups, which include Black people, women, and people with disabilities (minimum 3%). That means that if a company has more than 5% white men, it could face penalties of up to 10% of its income.

The EFF’s Statement on Easter 2026 -The EFF calls on all people to draw strength from the revolutionary teachings of Jesus Christ, who confronted unjust authority, exposed hypocrisy, and stood firmly on the side of the oppressed. His life was a direct challenge to systems of exploitation, and his resurrection symbolises that  justice is inevitable.

You don't need a PhD to understand why people are poor. Poverty goes away when prosperity shows up. And prosperity doesn't fall from the sky or get delivered by a UN truck.  It gets built by entrepreneurs who start businesses, hire people, and create things worth buying.  But those entrepreneurs need somewhere they can actually operate without spending half their life begging for permits and paying fees to people who produce nothing. Countries that get this right get rich. Countries that don't, stay poor.  The whole thing fits on a napkin and yet we've got entire university departments overcomplicating it.

Today in the Crossfire with Pieter Kriel, we speak to writer and political analyst @kimheller3. Our discussion focuses on Western influence on African sovereignty, the underrepresentation of African voices in Western media spaces, and how Africa can position itself!
