This was something we needed unity on, naming the IRGC a terrorist entity, close their embassy, expel their operatives, and say regime change is a necessity after the murder of 40,000 young people for protesting. That should have been a point of agreement even without entering the war militarily. Instead we voted with the UN to let these monsters lead the disarmament & rights of women group. I’m sorry but that’s a decision that makes me ashamed to be Canadian. It shows a lack of commitment to the rights, dignity & lives of women & youth!

Shockingly, there are still people on the right - particularly the 'influencers' - who still can't figure this out. Any association with Trumpism is absolutely disastrous. The Canadian politicians on the right who have succeeded - like Doug Ford - did so by becoming the most aggressive anti-Trump figures in the country. This isn't 'TDS' or even a Canada-specific phenomenon. Trump is deeply unpopular across the Western world. Those who keep blaming Canadians for this, and pretend that Trump's actions haven't generated logical and predictable political blowback from allies, have foolishly chosen to prioritize slavish cult-like loyalty to Trump over loyalty to the rational pursuit of truth.
