A few months ago I shared my procedural destruction system. Since then I've pushed it a lot further. New additions include: • Real time structural damage and stress based collapses • Real time metal deformation • A completely rewritten cutting system for static meshes • Full multiplayer replication • Bot support • Significant swarm improvements The entire system runs on Lyra + GAS, fully supports Nanite, uses a custom Voro++ based fracturing pipeline instead of Geometry Collections The project shown in this video is called AD METALLUM, my playground for experimenting with destruction technology, physics, and gameplay systems. I've also been using Blender extensively to automate asset generation through Python scripts. It's become an incredible part of my workflow for generating FBX assets and building content pipelines. I'll be sharing some of the tools, Python scripts, and source code in a future post for anyone interested. A huge thank you to the awesome team at Empty Vessel and everyone working on DEFECT. Working alongside such talented people keeps pushing me to create new technology and build games that do things a little differently. Red Faction showed us the dream over 20 years ago.
