We don't deserve cats 😺@catsareblessing

Your cat may act completely independent all day. They won’t come when called. They ignore your affection. But the moment you head to the bathroom? There they are, right behind you. Sitting. Staring. Watching while you’re on the toilet. So… why does this happen? Surprisingly, it’s actually really sweet. In the wild, cats are most vulnerable when relieving themselves, they can’t run or defend themselves easily. That’s why cats in groups often take turns standing guard for each other. When your cat follows you into the bathroom, they’re saying: “I know you’re vulnerable right now, so I’m going to protect you.” They’re literally being your bodyguard. Why the bathroom? - Small, enclosed space — easy to monitor for threats - You’re stationary — they know exactly where you are - You’re vulnerable — their protective instincts kick in- Quiet time — no distractions, just you and them Your cat sees you as family. In feline social groups, only cats who deeply trust and care for each other offer this kind of protection. So even if your cat seems aloof, following you to the bathroom is actually one of the purest signs of love and trust. They’re saying: “I may not be cuddly, but I’ll always have your back.” Your bathroom buddy isn’t being weird, they’re just being the best friend they know how to be.
