Meena Madhur won the Mid-Career award:

Last week was the Hypertension Council Scientific Sessions. I am extremely proud of two of my ex-fellows who won major awards. David Patrick won the Goldblatt Award.

We've recently published a paper in the JCI that identifies post-translationally modified peptides that are antigens in hypertension. Thanks to all my colleagues for their hard work on this project:

@PhDVoice @PostdocVoice I've encouraged my grad students to include any sizable project in their thesis as a chapter (or subchapter) even if it led to a dead end or only preliminary data that hasn't yet been published.

Are you interested in a post-doctoral fellowship studying super-fascinating mechanisms of inflammation in cardiovascular diseases? If so let me know. You need to be a recent PhD graduate or have a similar degree.

@spjuraschek For R01s and most other NIH grants, the references are not included in the page limits. So use what you want. I like the American Journal of Physiology format but make sure the citations are sequential and not alphabetical.

What are people's preferred citation formats for grants? I was using the AMA 14th edition, but noticed it cuts off authors after a certain point so senior authorship can be missed. It seems the Circulation format includes all authors...I like the latter a bit better.

@Aidrisdiran We could take a doctoral student as part of their thesis work from another institution. We have done this on several prior occasions and on some of these the student has elected to return to our lab for a post-doc after graduation.
