No one is willing to protest in Juba, South Sudan. There is a heavy deployment of soldiers on nearly every street corner. The government appears to fear its own people, while citizens live in fear of their govemt. Fear has settled everywhere in South Sudan, quiet and constant.
A poor man's greetings are mistaken as begging. Even friends think you're asking for a favour when you call them. Relatives mistake visiting for neediness. Make a lot of money. You'll save yourself from a lot of disrespect.
