I’m not leaving the left.
I’ve just had too many abusive experiences with progressives to keep looking the other way.
I’m not leaving the Democrats.
I’ve just spent too much time with Democratic insider politics to not admit, like all parties, it’s ultimately just politicians cynically saying what they have to say to get power.
I will enthusiastically vote for Kamala Harris. But, to be honest, I think the real work starts after the election.
Both our parties have to wrestle things back from the extremes. I am looking for allies in any political background, interested in better public policy that helps a wider electorate.

Extremism ruins good political movements.
Black Lives Matter was an excellent response to systematic disparities in criminal justice. Setting cities on fire stopped the public support that would have led to positive policy changes.
Trans healthcare is an excellent goal. Expanding the mission to ferret out potential trans kids by evangelizing, confusing them about their gender and medicalizing doubt did incalculable harm to that goal.
And urging caution with US involvement in the Middle East is an excellent goal. Expanding this to literally root for the Iranian Regime over Israel is definitional insanity.
I know firsthand how deeply unrewarding it is to stand up to the extremes on the left. But we can’t get to any of the good ideas we have until we do. The extremists are killing the left and making us unelectable.

@gwinli @Narno Dans certaines villes, ça serait tellement un labyrinthe (genre 2k pour faire 100 m) s'il n'y avait pas cette possibilité pour les cyclistes. Sur un "grand" axe, je trouve ça dangereux aussi, mais sur du carré résidentiel, c'est du bon sens. Donc, Hérésie, un bien grand mot.😀

It’s hard to see civilians die. It churns my stomach too. But, the truth is Israel has every right to defend itself and their theocratic Islamist opponents are committing war crimes by operating in civilian areas. The most effective way to end this horror is to stop holding Israel to insane double standards and let them eliminate the terrorist freaks that are destabilizing the Middle East. If America had any sense, we’d support them and understand this is a gift to the world.
