@LBR4567 @LeahLibresco In that case, IVF probably wasn’t necessary assuming they weren’t pre selecting for sex. The 15% success rate includes couples with fertility issues; with good timing IUI has 30% chance of success per attempt.

@LBR4567 @LeahLibresco If there are fertility issues, IUI is not a good choice. IUI is most useful for healthy women using donor sperm who often succeed within three attempts.

@LeahLibresco Granted they haven’t even gotten to attempt implantation yet and could have tried IUI like 4 times by now.

@Eric_Erins @RizomaSchool I've excluded the uninhabitable fixer uppers, so perhaps the inventory for a flipper is larger but not for the regular home purchaser.

@AuthorTronGriff @chicagobars The bill can't be used for stadium construction costs in the Nova Urban districts. Also, the 78 is already under a TIF so property taxes are already accounted for there. The purpose is to establish funding for One Central (and similar projects) through RREDY.

@enlchicago @chicagobars I never said you agreed with the bill. I do believe the Fire and White Sox owners would find a way to use bill.

What I think Chicago sports media is missing (or maybe I missed this in some coverage) is that WHATEVER the McCaskeys get for any AH stadium sets the FLOOR for what White Sox will expect in 3-5 years. And the White Sox will ask in a much more persuasive way than Bears have.

Waiting for House Committee to begin discussing Bears stadium bill, already the Illinois Federation of Teachers are likely to oppose the bill “if it moves forward in current form” @CHGO_Bears

@AuthorTronGriff @chicagobars I said before it's a poisoned chalice. The Arlington Heights project as conceived is not legal under this bill. Chicago Fire and White Sox would be under the jurisdiction of CPS and other taxing authorities and be subject to strict labor restrictions to qualify.

@enlchicago @chicagobars If the Bears get to use it, the Chicago Fire and White Sox owners would also be able to use it, since they are doing the same thing by building new stadiums. So they would be paying little taxes for 10-40 years on stadiums they were building anyway. It is a bad bill.

@Jwhite312312 Indeed not, especially when IL is competing against other States for those kind of massive projects which is why @GovPritzker has doggedly pursued passage of some type of Megaprojects bill for several years. I just think the Bears wasted a lot of time & money getting here.

@AuthorTronGriff @chicagobars The bill appears to be somewhat of a poisoned chalice. Any residential will void the megaproject designation. (Excepting some Chicago railyard sites) TIF is also barred. Downstate factories and corporate campuses (and theme parks?) seem to be the main usages.

@chicagobars I posted the same thing a few hours ago. The mega-project bill may end up being a disaster, with companies using it for projects they were building anyway. The Fire and Sox new stadium. Reinsdorf 1901 project. Developers building skyscrapers in Chicago. Hospital expansions.

OK twitter cooks. I have this bowl of soaking sliced potatoes (that were old and soft and sprouting like hell). How should I cook them? Both to taste good tonight and as leftovers.

@Eric_Erins Here's a visualization of how the cultural center would have operated at times. Think Churchill Downs. The dining hall and dance floor would have had prime access to the entertainment instead of being tucked away in the back.

@Bearthafuckdown @Maestermagoo @thekapman The answer for both is "LOL, trains". The team wants to maximize parking fees, and there's likelier to be shuttle service in either location. Neither location has feasible train service or capacity.

I am more convinced than ever that the Bears will be building their new stadium in Arlington Heights. I expect a vote in the next 10 days to approve the Mega Projects bill. And, it will be a bipartisan deal that gets it done. Hallelujah. #TakeThat

@Bearthafuckdown @Maestermagoo @thekapman I agree, but Illinois shouldn't play this game regardless of how much Indiana offers. The Bears needed to purchase a more reasonable location with necessary infrastructure in place. Not ask the state to retrofit a site after the fact.

@enlchicago @Maestermagoo @thekapman I also have 0 intention of ever going to a game in Hammond. Not that I matter. I get this is business, but I just think it’s disgusting how sports teams pit states against each other like this. It’s a race to the bottom and the one who gets fucked is always the taxpayer.

@Bearthafuckdown @Maestermagoo @thekapman I don't disagree that Wolf Lake is a poor location. Big time money loser for Indiana. But it does have an actual interstate and high capacity toll roads in place. Arlington needs a complete rebuild and eminent domain. It just does not work as is without a multi billion revamp

@enlchicago @Maestermagoo @thekapman At the end of the day, I do not support giving the Bears what Indiana has on the table in terms of public funding. So if they go, let them. I just don’t think the wolf lake site is any better than Arlington for the multitude of reasons that I’ve voiced in this thread.
