Chirality is far more than just a mirror image of a molecule. It can also act as a catalyst in some energy reactions involving reduction of oxygen (a concept for molecular engines). Furthermore, the type of chirality, understood as a certain twist at the anatomical level of the brain could play a vital role in the way the brain works (this twist of the brain is called Yakovlevian torque. However, my favourite idea is that chirality forms a fundamental requirement for ... self-reference and acts as a type of mirror at the quantum level. If so, for consciousness studies this could mean that for instance in an aromatic molecule, composed of two rings e.g.. a molecule like biphenyl (two benzene rings joined by a single bond), there is a "twist" or dihedral angle between the rings. This asymmetry could play a role in how the collapse of Pi-electrons occurs and in fact, perhaps this may be the mechanism (or part of it) of how the "loss of quantumness" takes place (different angles between both rings may cause different types of superpose states, resulting in slightly different "aha" moments - non-computability type or shades of qualia). In other words - chirality taken in a wider sense as certain twist/torque and not the mirror reflection only may play a fundamental role at quantum mechanism of consciousness by constituting a mechanism of a ver basic self-reference or non-null collapse of superposed state. In a more general sense I call this a "quantum mirror" and model it as a twist of a Möbius strip representing a continuum of consciousness, which on a simple closed strip would have no self-reference mode and so remain fully unaware of Self because every part of the regular strip is the same in regard to transformation process whereas on the Möbius strip the twist (a type of chirality) forms an asymmetry of operations forcing the emergence of Self by the fact that the operation must assume a different path due to transformation of spacetime topology. The Self arises as a memory of that transformation and as such it defines the extremes being: I (1) and None (0), which brings us to the possibility that ... silicon (computationalism of LLMs) may perhaps form Consciousness if the Code is organised into a Möbius type of a "spacetime" stream.
