Wemby didn’t speak to the media after Game 5? No big deal. Let’s give this young man a break. He’s talked after like 95 % of the games he’s played this season, win or loss, and it’s totally understandable that he was so frustrated after Game 5 that he knew he’d rather not speak than say something he’d regret later. Let’s move on.

I'm saying to be a team leader, you have to show up and take the bullets. You can't leave that to role players. It's a pretty inarguable point that you nevertheless want to argue, for some reason. It's not the end of the world by any means. But it should be a teachable moment.

@BigChrizzle I agree. Haven’t seen any heart from him aside from a few minutes in game one. Pop used to get himself ejected to inject some passion in the guys when needed. Mitch is scared to say the wrong thing.

@enumerate Yeah, tghe difference is Pop was load managing guys well into their mid-late 30s with a ton of mileage. These guys are barely in their 20s in their first playoffs. Mitch is awful. He was not ready. He's an assistant coach getting carried by generational talent

@BigChrizzle Spurs too conservative for their own good sometimes. Pop would load manage like that sometimes too all in the name of protecting/conserving the player. I feel like sometimes they’re TOO focused on the future and not the present.

@enumerate Agreed, but Mitch is overrated and does not know how to play with a lead/momentum. Why did he take out Wemby and Fox 5 minutes into the game when the Spurs had a 15 point lead, and CLEARLY the momentum? Things like this is why I think the Spurs may end up losing this series
