Somewhat related to my previous thread: having to ask uncomfortable questions about Clotted’s character in relation to dating him was easy when it came to my OCxCanon bc Herrencreme was passive from the start. It was a trait I wanted for him bc I knew it would backfire

Thinking about this. Clotted is a difficult character because he forces the audience to ask themselves “would his partner tolerate his participation in Republic government and its system built on racism” and that’s when people start to get uncomfortable and ignore it entirely

@dxrkvampyre Like you said it best on your original post but truly…..people do not want to ask the question and it’s a little jarring seeing him shipped with people who canonically do not support him in story or have values that clash directly with what he does/doesn’t do

But yeah I wish his character got treated the same way people are willing to with Madeleine in Espresseleine but unfortunately people are not willing to be uncomfortable with Clotted’s character in general because once you do, it’s really hard to find ships that will tolerate him
