How has Enveda defied convention in both AI and biotech to quickly become a clinical-stage company with multiple drugs in patients? Our Founder & CEO, @viswacolluru, recently sat down with Akshay Rai at @PremjiInvest, a high-conviction investor who has backed Enveda across multiple rounds, to discuss the strategies that have shaped Enveda's approach. Some of the topics they explore: On AI: Why applying AI to the same target-first playbook may not be enough to change drug discovery's 90% failure rate. On speed and efficiency: How Enveda built an integrated prediction, validation, and iteration loop that dramatically accelerates the path from hit to candidate. On defensibility: Why the most valuable medicines may be the ones that reveal entirely new biology. On vision: What it might take to build a generational pharma company rather than optimize for a single-asset outcome. The future of biotech won't be shaped by great science alone. It will be shaped by who we choose to build with and the people we build for. At #BIO2026, Enveda's Senior Vice President of Capital Formation & Global Partnerships, Bigyan R. Bista, PhD will be exploring the power of collaboration from two different angles. June 24 | 11:00 AM: Bridging Borders: How US-Asia Collaboration Is Redefining Global Biotech Deal-Making Cross-border partnerships are reshaping how companies access innovation, capital, and expertise. This session explores the evolving models driving the next generation of global biotech collaboration and what they mean for companies building the pipelines of the future. convention.bio.org/2026-sessions-… June 25 | 9:00 AM: Patients: Our Innovation and Advocacy Partners From discovery through development and access, patient perspectives play a critical role in shaping better medicines. This discussion focuses on practical approaches for embedding the patient voice throughout the innovation journey, not as a values statement, but as a design principle. convention.bio.org/2026-sessions-… #BIO2026 #Biotech #DrugDiscovery #PatientAdvocacy

What does it take to raise $100M+ in a market where capital is more selective than ever? At #BIO2026, Enveda Founder & CEO @viswacolluru will join @ky_lahucik of @endpts alongside biotech executives who have successfully closed some of the industry's largest financings in a challenging market. Viswa will share a rare look at how Enveda earned investor conviction around an ambitious vision: turning nature's chemistry into the next generation of first-in-class medicines. He’ll discuss the decisions, milestones, and long-term thinking required to build a company for decades, not just the next financing round. The potential of #AI in #DrugDiscovery has been discussed for a while, with little to show for it in the clinic. Enveda is changing that. Positive clinical readout, multiple mega-blockbuster clinical pipeline, and a platform that is expanding our understanding of biology through chemistry. Our Founder & CEO, @viswacolluru, will present at the @UBS Private Biotech Innovation Summit on May 18, one of the most selective investor forums for private biopharma companies. Clinical proof that our AI-native platform can produce differentiated medicines at scale, not just interesting molecules. See you there!

We’ve built the world’s first Chemical Sequencer, but unlocking nature’s chemistry still requires more data and better ways to understand it. That’s why we’re deepening our collaboration with @tomas_pluskal and his lab at @IOCBPrague, a global leader in natural product chemistry and plant #metabolomics. We’re proud to support the PhD work of Filip Jozefov, whose research combines machine learning and mass spectrometry. Filip is developing new machine learning approaches using a rich dataset generated in the lab. These approaches improve the accuracy of molecular structure prediction, which is an essential step toward decoding nature’s chemistry at scale. Our ongoing collaboration supports our commitment towards advancing cutting-edge science, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in structure prediction, and helping to shape the future direction of the field.🚀 #MachineLearning #MassSpectrometry #DrugDiscovery #Biotech

.@viswacolluru thinks most ideas that change the trajectory of human life are actually old. The locomotive was first a steam engine. Electric cars, neural networks, and rockets all existed long before the world caught up to them. The question is not what to invent but which abandoned idea the world is finally ready to revisit, where the ancillary technologies have matured enough to clear the original constraints. For Viswa, that idea is using plant compounds as the starting point for drug discovery. The pharma industry set it aside, and he is revisiting it.

For decades, drug discovery has shifted away from nature and toward biology-first approaches. @viswacolluru believes that shift was a catastrophic mistake. His company, Enveda (@enveda), has raised over $500 million to build a “search engine for nature’s chemistry.” In our conversation, we explore: • Why the pharmaceutical industry abandoned nature (and why that was a massive mistake) • How Enveda built a system to decode unknown molecules in nature • The deeply personal story of his mother’s battle with leukemia and how it shaped his life’s work • Why old ideas, from immunotherapy to natural products, often hold the most latent potential • How Enveda developed 18 drug candidates for about $1 million each instead of $10-15 million • Enveda’s three leading drug candidates targeting eczema, obesity, and ulcerative colitis • Why first-in-class medicines capture the vast majority of returns in pharma • What competitive table tennis taught him about building companies Thank you to the partners who make this possible @brexHQ: The intelligent finance platform: brex.com/mario @ahrefs Brand Radar: Find your brand in AI results: ahrefs.com/generalist @withpersona: Trusted identity verification for any use case: withpersona.com/generalist (00:00) Introduction to Viswa Colluru (07:06) Early pull toward technology (14:24) Studying Biotechnology (24:23) Innovation vs. novelty (32:05) Joining Recursion (40:42) What launched Enveda (49:53) Chemistry-first approach (52:17) Raising $225K and investing $55K personally (56:04) Initial studies and targets (1:18:27) Enveda’s long-term vision (1:21:31) Book recommendation

Pharma spent 30 years going biology-first. Enveda is built on the opposite bet. On @generalist with @mariodgabriele: why the chemistry 4 billion years of evolution has already selected for is still the best starting material we have ...and why that question is personal for me.
