𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧: 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 Minister Aucamp took a moment to wish Ethiopian Minister of Water and Energy well ahead of their COP32 Presidency in 2027. They agreed that going forward, it will be important for Africa to see tangible financial support for climate action, especially adaptation and mitigation.

𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧: 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 Minister Aucamp held a bilateral meeting with Mr Selwyn Hart, Special Advisor to the SG of the United Nations at the Petersberg Climate Dialogue. During their meeting they discussed the priorities ahead of COP31 in Türkiye in November as well as key areas of collaboration.

The balloon is released twice every 24 hrs, first release at 01:30 AM and second release at 13:30 noon. This happens simultaneously in every province.

🎈Deputy Minister Swarts prepares to release a balloon equipped with cutting-edge weather reading technology! As the balloon ascends into the skies, it will collect vital weather data across the troposphere and transmit it to SAWS meteorology system, enhancing SAWS ability to generate accurate weather forecasts. The balloon reaches an average altitude of about 25000m.
