@slayvanese I'm probably not one to talk about racism considering where my account is based from, but one thing I realize is that the english speaking Balinese on Twitter tend to have views that are uh.. generally not nice of other Indonesians? I'm sure most Balinese irl are nice though

Akhirnya orang Bali ini dipecat. Infonya: 1. DIA COBA NGELAKUIN PERKOSAAN KE MANAGER BARU, manager cewek cantik asal Vietnam. 2. Dia gelut sama tim kitchen, karna ngerasa paling pinter dan bener. 3. Dia bohong masalah dokumen, yes, MISI, CEWEK VIETNAM INI LAGI COBA HUBUNGIN ES BIAR DIA DI DEPORTASI. "I hate Moslems" katanya 3. Dia orang Bali, Asia, tapi rasis banget. Kalo dapet tamu kulit hitam, sebisa mungkin dia tolak atau dia treat semaunya aja dengan tujuan supaya tuh tamu gak balik lagi (yang berarti itu gak baik untuk bisnisnya si owner) Dia gak tau aja udah berapa kali aku dapet tip $100 dari keluarga kulit hitam 🥺 rich black American, kalo nemu waiter baik dan take care banget sama sesi makannya mereka pasti gak ragu buat kasih tip gede. Sekali waktu pernah ada bapak kulit hitam, gayanya sengak banget, omongannya ngelantur, dia minta rekomendasi makanan dan minuman, ku jawab "you deserve all good food and drink, especially the expensive one. But, yeah, I'm good at marketing" dianya ketawa, ngikutin semua rekomendasiku. Billnya cuma $89 tapi kemudian ngasih tip aku $100. "Makasih udah ngelayanin keluargaku dengan baik meskipun sikapku kurang menyenangkan. Coba buka itu foldermu." Katanya. Aku buka, aku liat dia nulis $100. Aku mlongo, "are you serious?" Tanyaku mastiin. Terus istrinya yang jawab "yesss, you deserve that!" Terus kami berpelukan bertiga. Yeay!

It's simple. Let people be identified according to their preference. I know there are some Betawi people who prefer to be identified as "Melayu Betawi", while others against it. We can not force all Betawi people to adhere or reject the concept of Malayness.
Kalameta 😿@Calametha

@user123427791 @SmartRandomGuy Not at all, Circassians had many twelve tribes and I think only Kabardin remained majority in their land. Adygea is like only 25% Circassians. So..

@guttapercha80 This problem is even funnier when you realize millions of South Asians from Northeast India, Bhutan, and Nepal looks very typically "oriental" (I hate that word)

@Sheep0092 The funnier part is when Southeast Asians of any nation really try to argue about being against "outsider's culture" or talks about cultural purity. Like FFS half of our culture here is deviated from India or China lmfao

Im not impressed by those Indonesian people who take such high importance in the concept of an ethnicity "owning" a particular cultural practice or item. I actually think you all have maggots in your brains. Culture isnt about you owning something its about how you share it.

@JamesTheTweeter @Jxwhannes I actually agree for the most part, but for many of these indigenous communities "the only choice" is very much the problem at hand. Greenland and Nunavut aren't exactly fertile lands, so herding isn't a choice, neither is a vegan heavy diet. Exporting is extremely expensive too.

@MrBruh_II @Jxwhannes Yes they do have access to modern supply lines. But there is also a logistic factor to it, most of them live in rural areas, to eat "normal" meat is extremely coast heavy, which hunting the ecologically viable animals helps alleviate. Same opinion for the latter.

@eny98690 @Jxwhannes Inuits live in Canada for fuck sake. They have access to modern supply lines. I highly doubt hunting whales is necessary for them to continue. But I'm not a vegetarian or vegan so I'm actually fine with them doing it, since it's local communities not mass commercial whaling.

@82636282636k @m0drn_nsf3rtu @Jxwhannes I agree, don't get me wrong; my honest opinion is that non vegans who deal in talking about the morality of eating animals are not valid. Who are you to decide which animal is better to eat lmao But there is also the argument that Inuit land are not good for agriculture.

@m0drn_nsf3rtu @eny98690 @Jxwhannes ”Food chain” is an appeal to nature and therefore a bad argument. We have a choice to make. We don’t need meat to survive. We can have the nutrients we need from a vegan diet, except for b-12 but that is usually added in vegan products. Killing animals is unnecessary and wrong

@82636282636k @Jxwhannes I agree actually, I think people who aren't vegan have no standing when talking about the morality of eating animals.

@eny98690 @Jxwhannes If it HAS to be done for survival, there isn’t an ethical choice to be made. Norm is different though. Eating meat is the norm everywhere. Veganism is about reducing harm as much as possible. So if going vegan is possible, you should do it.

Do you think Malaysia’s Malay establishment actually cares about the brain drain? The answer is NO. In fact, a former deputy prime minister once openly said he was happy that talented Chinese and Indians were leaving, because they were among the strongest critics of the system. Instead, the official narrative spins brain drain as Malaysia “doing the world a favour” by exporting talent. TalentCorp and others have even claimed we can easily lure these people back once they’ve gained overseas experience. Reality tells a different story. More than half of the scientists and professionals who return eventually leave Malaysia again. Why? Because they are often met with deliberate obstacles: endless red tape, non-recognition of foreign qualifications (a medical specialist may suddenly find his credentials “not recognised”), and outright sabotage from jealous colleagues in local universities and institutions. I personally know a medical specialist who came back to Sarawak to contribute in the public hospital. In less than three years, he packed up and moved his family back to the UK. He says he has told all his Malaysian friends in the UK not to come back and waste their time. He says he came back for family links but realised that he will have to give up his career. The only group that seems to return permanently are those coming back semi-retired. They come back for the family, food and the low cost of luxury living. They keep a low profile. Many of them actually made their money in Singapore. In short, the establishment is largely unbothered that Malaysia has become a convenient HR pipeline for Singapore and other countries. They see it as a useful safety valve: talented non-Malays who are unhappy can simply leave, reducing domestic pressure for meaningful reform. As long as this outlet exists, the incentive to fix the underlying problems remains weak. Non-Malays can complain as loudly as they want, but without real political leverage, nothing fundamental changes. Its all a big con. That’s how the brain drain debate actually functions in Malaysia. Do you agree? #Malaysia #Discrimination #Global #Talent #KetuananMelayuIslam
