@eonlake Yes. It is culturally most interesting. My mother saw Alfred Brendel there, Pina Bausch had her dance theatre, there was absolutely AMAZING architecture - and a very fine Zoo, mind you. Now the city is piss poor, and you see astounding ruins. F. Engels is from there.

@eonlake They have new cars now, but still very beautiful. The contrast to rail system is now more explicit. And it really is a nice ride throuhg the valley, altho the industry and houses their are in decline. It is a ruined beauty, this Wuppertal. Haunty, in more than one way.

@eonlake Still a bit weak, but on the mend, I think. Weather is improving, and I visited Wuppertal yesterday for a few hours. 125 years of the "Schwebebahn", and you could ride it for free! Wonderfully absurd transportation.
