Most EOR buyers sign the first draft without asking a single question. Markup fees, contract length, notice periods, setup costs - all negotiable. Compliance? That stays fixed. eoroverview.com

Rippling vs Deel. Both go beyond basic EOR. Rippling: 80+ countries, $499/month, HR + IT + payroll automated. Deel: 150+ countries, $599/month, employees + contractors + equity in one place. Cheaper per seat vs wider global coverage. That is usually the real call.

EOR providers are great at explaining what it costs to get started. Much less clear on what it costs to stop. Ask before you sign: - Exit fee to terminate? - Notice period - 30, 60, or 90 days? - Per-employee offboarding fee? - How is severance handled?

Your EOR just told you they use a local partner in the country you are hiring in. What do you do? - Verify the partner independently - Request SLAs covering the partner - Accept it for less common markets - Walk away Drop it below.

Oyster vs Deel. Both $599/month per employee. Oyster: built for employment. Better local benefits and employee experience. Deel: built for everything. Contractors, equity, HR, payroll in one place. One is a specialist. One is a platform. Depends what you need.

Most EOR buyers never ask: "Do you actually own the entity in that country?" Owned entity = EOR controls everything directly. Partner model = third party employs your staff. EOR is the middleman. Partners are not always bad. Not knowing about them is.

Rippling vs Oyster - not what most expect. Rippling: $499/month, 148 countries, full HR + IT platform. Oyster: $599/month, 140 countries, 48-hour onboarding, dedicated account manager. Rippling wins on price + coverage. Oyster wins on support. Depends what you need.

EOR for startups - what actually matters at 1 to 10 employees: - No employee minimums - Onboarding under 2 weeks - Flat-fee pricing - not percentage-based - Support that works without an HR team - Compliance explained clearly Ask these before you sign.

EOR pricing works two ways: Flat fee: $300-700/month. Same cost regardless of salary. % of salary: 10-15% monthly gross. Cheap for junior hires, expensive for senior ones. On a $5k salary, that difference adds up to $1,200/year. Always ask which model you're being quoted

What benefits does your employee get through an EOR? Mandatory: paid leave, sick leave, pension. Non-negotiable. Optional: health insurance, equipment, bonuses. You choose. One thing most miss: does the EOR offer group benefits? Some do. Most don't. Always ask.

What happens when you terminate someone through an EOR? The EOR issues the notice - not you. Local notice periods apply. Not yours. Severance is often mandatory by law. EOR termination fee on top: $500 to 2 months. Know this before you need it.
