I understand what you mean; love truly needs to be given in order to have a chance of being reciprocated. Many men tend to show a deep emotional response when they feel trusted and needed. At the same time, I also believe the key isn't who gives first, but whether both parties feel safe and can love genuinely without reservations. When love isn't an exchange or a test, but flows naturally based on mutual respect, a relationship can truly be built.

I’ve always felt like there’s a wall between me and men. I’ve tried to peek behind it, to see what’s there, but in the end, I realized it’s empty. It’s like I want to talk to him about the complexity of human nature, discuss the ending of a movie, share my innermost thoughts, even hope he’ll gently touch my face. But his response is always: "It doesn’t matter, I’ll always love you." He seems unable to grasp anything beyond simple emotions. His heart feels like an empty program, only programmed with lines to say. That’s why he seems so awkward. He doesn’t notice the tiny mole at the corner of my eye, nor does he see the subtle expressions I carry. All he knows is that when I deliver my lines, he clumsily responds, "I’ll always be with you..."🙃 Women, however, always crave a more tangible love—one that notices the strands of hair falling when she crouches like a stray cat, one that tastes the sweet and salty of her tears at night, one that wonders about her political views, and is curious why she’s watched that old movie over and over again. She may not be the roundest, nor the shiniest stone, but perhaps all those countless cracks and edges are the very reasons she’s cherished. The love women often receive feels like a theme park plush toy—cute, pretty, nice personality, good enough. But who’s inside that shell doesn’t matter. I don’t understand it. Sometimes, I even think of writing myself into a book for others to read. But some people only glance at the cover.🥲
