I have my kids responding to one of my blendspace choiceboard grids that has a video showing them the latest upcoming energy saving trends- the 5 latest inventions for the future..."Which one do you find the most interesting and will be the most successful."

Q1 Something I had my kids do recently was to help me come up with google classroom roles and expectations so they would have a voice and choice of what it should look like and sound like when they send posts to each other. #hillchat101

Great things are happening at Hill! The school is under construction and you can't get in the front or side door. Can't wait to see it finished. Hope we are getting a covered walkway out front.

Chapter 25 This made me think about the times that Kasie would visit my room and then leave a sticky note on my door and it was always something encouraging. It was such a small thing to do but meant the world to me. I felt valued and noticed.

Chapter 20 Being around people who've forgotten how to dream can suck the life out of you I think. Being around Hope (she is 4) keeps me constantly laughing and remembering to be childlike. We are playing Supergirls or building castles playing mermaids in the pool or beauty shop

Chapter 19 I experienced self doubt when I was moved from 5th grade to 3rd grade I felt like I was being told that I "couldn't cut the mustard" in 5th and that my test scores weren't good enough and that I wasn't an effective teacher anymore. I realize now it was God's gift to me

Chapter 18 I start turning my complaints into things to be thankful for: 1. I am thankful for the job I am feeling like quitting. 2. I am thankful that I HAVE kids in my class that are driving me crazy right now 3. for a country where TESTS and learning can take place etc...

The one thing I wish people knew was how much I truly love what I do. When people ask what grade has been my favorite grade to teach it is always whatever grade I am teaching at the time. I love kids. All kids .All grades. They all bring something unique and different to the

Chapter 13 This chapter is way out of my comfort zone because it requires giving up the majority of my control to the kids...and I'm somewhat of a control freak...and it also means lots of new innovating. Maybe if I re-read chapter 10 it will help ease my anxiety over this!

could even continue class. This began helping them change their perspective on whatever it was that was bothering them that day. The more we would do this, the easier it became:)

Chapter 11 It is easy sometimes to get caught up in the negative rather than the positive. Often times in class this past year there were times when I would have the kids stop...get out their writing journals...and start listing what they were thankful/grateful for before we

Chapter 10 I love the part in this chapter about being champions together and helping our kids succeed together. It is always easier and less intimidating learning new things with a buddy:) My cheerleaders growing up were my parents and my 5th grade teacher Ms. White.

Chapter 9 I think the reasons for doubting my own abilities are the expectations that I put on myself and thinking that I have to be as good or as creative or as "fun" or whatever it is that I am seeing in another teacher. It usually takes my friends to help me remember who I am.
