@LillyByteGames Yeah, that's pretty much where I'm at, which is why I'm venting on Twitter instead of talking to friends in person about it. I don't see anyone interested in hearing about how they weren't there for me after saying they would be.

@LillyByteGames My real favorites are the friends and family who came back with "Well, I wanted to see if you could pull it off before I bought in, and you didn't, so I didn't see the point in helping." Awesome. Next time just tell me I'm a bad bet.

@LillyByteGames Yup. It's hard when I can't rely on anyone to keep their word; even when I am paying them for their work and they are normally very reliable. It's become so common in my life (even though I always give them the benefit of the doubt) that I just stopped asking for help.

@LillyByteGames A good example: My Kickstarter last year. I spoke to over 300 people who offered help, including some (normally) very reliable people. How many contributed? 8. I woke up and realized that I have better things to do than waste my time if all I'm going to get is ignored.

@Cheshire3D Do it for yourself, not for anyone else. Never do anything creative just because other people like it, do it because you like it. And when you don't like doing it for yourself any more, do something else; our interests are allowed to change. :)

@LillyByteGames That is my point. I'm sick of spending weeks working (even when enjoying the process) just to have some consumer (aka "friends") piss all over everything I do because they bought something cooler last week. It feels like nobody enjoys my work... to the point that I no longer care
