@Agent99rp We just talked about this with @DrSadiqAbdulla at @ubc_anes Academic Day! Agree that VL has to be a bigger part of managing the OB airway. I suspect (or hope) that with VL used, the incidence of failed intubation would decrease from that classic 1/300

@DrSadiqAbdulla @Anaes_Journal @Ron_George @antonchau1 @psahota77 @josecarvalhoyyz @Agent99rp Solid induction (unless a good reason not to), and almost always 2 mg of Midazolam to bridge the gap between my induction and whatever maintenance anesthetic I've chosen, in recognition of C-sections being relatively high risk for awareness.

First publication since residency!

@VarshneyMD I had a number of staff introduce themselves to me by first name in R2 and it really made me feel at ease, and valued. The department at SPH was the first place I felt that way in residency. That resonated with me and I try and do the same now with new residents.

Omg YES!! A true struggle for me. I could never bring myself to call staff by their first name during residency - I’d always hear my mom’s voice in my head scolding me for not respecting them. Even as a staff colleague, I just can’t do it....
