@IvyWinterYGO like, I want people to be able to play the game as much as possible, but I don't want every single card to be able to access the exact same line, accessing every part of the engine and ending on the full board. For me personally it removes a lot of intrigue
English

@IvyWinterYGO i think my biggest issue is not consistency in the sense of never bricking, but just the fact that every card is both starter and extender and does the full extent of the deck's plays on its own. the only reason you ever end on weaker boards nowadays is the existence of charmies

This is devastating. Naroditsky was the best commentator, communicator, and educator I have ever seen, not just in chess.
In a community full of ego, misogynists, racists, and lunatics, he was one of the few people I continued to hold respect for. This is the worst timeline.

The Naroditsky family shares the sad news of Daniel’s unexpected passing. Daniel was a talented chess player, educator, and beloved member of the chess community. We ask for privacy as the family grieves.

I genuinely cant believe the hasan dog thing is still going.
This is the dumbest drama ever and is clearly grasping at straws to get a popular political enemy canceled and if you believe this shit you might be the dumbest braindead fuckin’ idiot ever.

Jennifer Welch was on Hasan Piker's stream a few days before the Oct 7 "shock" scandal. She literally examined the dog's collar on stream, noting how she thought it was tight. She's now confirmed that the collar had no prongs to shock AND the dog is allowed to roam the house.

@MBTYuGiOh reading Havnis is also just like, not correct, since I'm pretty sure you normal it there
English

@MBTYuGiOh First Tear MCS, I played against Jesse Kotton on the bubble. He went activate Scream pass. I read Havnis, neutered my board trying to play around it, was still in a winning position because his hand was so bad, managed to lose. He ended up winning the tournament.
English

@MBTYuGiOh It's unfortunately been too long, I don't remember the exact sequence of plays, but it traumatized me so much I stopped playing tear for the remainder of that format. Ended up topping the MCS finals with Spright so i guess that was a good decision

@atrocityTCG @fedginator Yep, this is the reason that makes most sense to me. Not as much experience playing against exclusively the best of the best in this sort of format.
English

@fedginator It's the lack of tournament scene in the OCG at large. They get one ycs every two formats and it's a one day raffle-invite only bo1 tournament so it's not really even on the same format. There's no regional circuits and worlds invites are done through locals mostly
English

@cantcommute @Tcoren1 @atrocityTCG if you want to draw accurate comparisons i do think you need one person with deep experience in multiple games tbh. it's really easy to make false equivalencies and end up saying nothing of substance if each person is only really looking at it from the one perspective
English

@Tcoren1 @epthopper @atrocityTCG which might be too hard if we're being honest for an individual. Dude needs a team like how falseswipe has different people write about the different gens/metagames
English

@Tcoren1 @atrocityTCG Like he will often say "this is bad design" and then his explanation is literally one sentence which is just not nearly enough to make such an assertion. I would respect his opinions a lot more if he actually put substance into them, even if I disagree with the conclusions
English

@Tcoren1 @atrocityTCG His analysis for the other games is also lackluster (MTG and HS at least, can't judge for Pokemon)
His analysis isn't entirely wrong? But it's often undercooked and buys into common thought-terminating narratives rather than diving into things a little deeper
