If you’re going to complain every time Boone makes a move out of the bullpen that doesn’t work, you should be willing to give him his flowers when he makes a move that plays out perfectly.
A lot of managers would be hesitant to bring their closer into a bases loaded situation with five outs left in the game.
Boone was aggressive and it paid off big time. Great job by Bednar for executing

Question for those who were a bit older than me in 2000: Did everyone just see this gigantic man show up and just not think anything of it or was everyone aware that he had more steroids in his body than a BALCO Christmas Party?
I was 8 years old in 2000, so I was old enough to follow the team a bit but not old enough to realize that some of these guys were juiced out of their minds.

Nobody talks enough about Glenallen Hill coming over to the Yankees in midseason in 2000 and hitting 16 HRs in just 132 ABs. The same year in fact that he cleared Wrigley with that 500 foot blast.

I’m completely making this up.
But I swear in previous seasons there’s no way the Yankees win that game. I was sitting there just waiting for the dagger. I’ve seen it a million times. Bednar didn’t have it and it felt like it was a matter of time before a gut wrenching loss happened.
Maybe the Yankees will have luck on their side this season for once.
