I spoke too soon.
Roblox is now in the process of removing the Default Face, which has been on the platform since 2006, and replacing it with the dynamic one.
It is currently only viewable on R15, but it will presumably roll out to R6 later.

With the update now fully in effect, the Default Face remains the only classic face that is still wearable. won’t give it long though
