@mitsuhiko I find your analysis in this piece compelling. Thanks for sharing it. I think your conclusions are right.

With Twitter's change in ownership last week, I'm probably in the clear to talk about the most unethical thing I was asked to build while working at Twitter. 🧵

@ShriramKMurthi A long time ago in the windows days, my first and only use of internet explorer was googling for firefox or chrome.

It's super funny how we're all using Twitter to talk about potentially migrating off Twitter, thereby giving Twitter a bunch of the info it needs. How many companies have customers discuss migration plans *using the company's service*? Fairly unique in business history?

I recently learned that lenses are just getter/setter pairs. That's all they are. What else are y'all not telling me?

Hey Twitter, research question! I have this edge detection pic of my hand on a tree. 1) How do I find the width in pixels from left thumb edge to right pinky? 2) How do I find where the tree starts and ends? Don't need full answers, just gen guidelines on where to look. Thanks!

@sarcasticadmin yeah, I think when people who get really excited about processes the proper response is probably to run in the opposite direction. Also, the evangelists have done a great job revealing how impossible it will be for their processes to ever live up to their promises.

After 3 years of talking about agile scrum processes, I am now pretty bearish on agile/scrum and the response I get when I voice these complaints is inevitably, "the meetings will continue until morale improves."

@GFWatchdog Sometimes I wonder if other countries where they dissuade folks with celiac from ever trying to eat oats don't have the right idea... But also I love oatmeal and every time you send an email I just cross my fingers like, "please let there be no updates for *my* oats!"

I can think of plenty of examples where engineering groups didn't focus sufficiently on tooling, but are there examples where engineers focused TOO MUCH on tooling? That is, where they ended up with an incredible tool, but forgot to build the underlying artifact?

I think I'm starting to really like the Twitter categorization thing because it's hilarious. Here's what it is showing me today for the category "Seasonal cooking." Will I *ever* dare to click "See more"?
