btw: one of our officers has been in her car watching this scene I asked her if she could do something to ensure pedestrian safety she said "well they closed the sidewalk so..." know this isn't your guys' fault, but this is kids walking to school, come on @BrooklineMAPD

Brookline! get out there and vote YES this week (in-person voting all week at town hall) YES for excellent public schools, public safety, public transit, and public parks! I am proud to increase my own taxes (modestly) to keep Brookline an incredible place to live and raise kids

very cheeky. I am not saying you are required by law to tell us how you will vote but you are a public servant, and this is a crucial policy position that should inform people's own votes are you supporting it or not

@eric4brookline Thanks for reminding everyone of the power of the secret ballot. Serves to keep both sides working their hardest to earn your vote.

@berkie1 this well-describes a selfless, rational approach to how taxes should work in a society unfortunately, narcissistic venture capitalists without kids in the schools who think they work harder than everyone else would argue otherwise

“Voting against housing & citing its absence to oppose funding is not fiscal prudence; it is avoidance. We cannot continue to vote “no” on every change, every investment & every long‑term solution, while expecting schools, services, roads & community character to remain intact.” - Marblehead, Massachusetts resident Noah Handy

@JohnVanScoyoc that's not a position john that's saying you're grumpy your proposal didn't win. whether it should or shouldn't have won: by not saying to voters clearly whether you support the proposal we will all see on the ballot, we are left to guess not ok in my book

as we creep up on the May election, I would like to propose brookline's grumps may choose one (*but not both!) of opposing property tax overrides OR reflexively opposing all construction projects sorry but we cannot afford to have it both ways

it is time to build the building in the gravel pit in Coolidge Corner it is time to build apartments instead of keeping massive surface parking lots

proud to endorse Michael Rubenstein for Select Board! among many other reasons, he's the only candidate who voted in favor of Brookline's mbta communities act compliance (and even led the Yes! In Brookline campaign that supported it)

when the TSP treats the schools as equal (instead of the priority), we are making a choice to weaken our education system during deficit years this is the wrong choice
