Tinder was genius. everyone copied it. but let’s be real, the goal of Tinder was never to make matches. Tinder is Vegas. just like in the casino the point is for you to be there and to be hitting the slot machine or I guess swiping swipe for those dopamine hits that hardly ever turn into IRL dates addiction > human connection at Ditto we know the apps are dying and close to dead. people want to meet in person. we make that happen. for now it’s just for college students. sign up and get your match every Wednesday for your IRL date

first reactions to Ditto: “I don’t want more tech. It’s removing friction

last year was all about using agents to automate boring stuff. we decided to use agents differently agents can now handle messy data. not just checkboxes and forms. they can tune into tone and vibes there’s the famous example from geoffrey hinton. no one explicitly told an AI how compost heat and atomic bombs are similar, but ai reasoned that they both undergo chain reactions. ai can do the same thing for human connections the best human connections aren’t based on obvious features, like your MBTI, music taste, or having the same college major. they’re based on deeper patterns most people can’t articulate. but ai can detect the patterns. that’s the unlock we’ve brought to the world of social tech with Ditto

If your AI product does not deliver direct results, you are cooked. Here are my key bets about AI's ability: 1. AI's complex reasoning capabilities are set to skyrocket. Whether it's through Chain-of-Thought (CoT) reasoning or deep research, AI will not only become more powerful at abstracting key features from long contexts, but also stronger at connecting hidden dots between seemingly unrelated things. As Geoffrey Hinton once analogized, AI might uncover the hidden link between atom bombs and compost heaps—two things that appear completely unrelated—by recognizing that both undergo chain reactions. 2. AI agents will become much more niche, personalized, and customized. Today's AI is like electricity in its earliest days, when people had to unplug light bulbs to plug in other appliances—because end-to-end electric systems were not standardized. There weren’t even electric outlets, and electricity was designed only for lighting. As the technology developed and became standardized, more niche and personalized use cases began to emerge. The same is happening with AI. AI is a thin layer of technology that impacts every industry. Once a more standardized format or protocol for AI agents is established & the cost for AI reasoning decreases, we’ll see the rise of personalized and niche agents, rather than everything being just a wrapper around a general chatbot. 3. AI will be powerful in directly delivering results through agentic capabilities. With advancements like MCP and products such as @manusai, @cursor_ai, and @deepseek_ai’s deep research, AI consumer products will become directly responsible for delivering results—not just showing users how to get there. The relationship between the user and the agent will be streamlined into three simple steps: Inputting guidance and requirements Receiving a result Fine-tuning based on that result for improved outcomes Given this trajectory of AI capabilities, consumer AI products are increasingly designed to deliver direct, actionable results.
