That High Limit Racing event was fun tonight. I’m such a dirt noob. I didn’t realize it was such radio-style commentary. Fast-paced and frantic I’d probably watch almost every week if it was on FS1, honestly. Not in love with it, but it’s a very enjoyable product & presentation

@ripjetson9 What's your take on the "basket" under rear bumpers on modern sprint cars? Good idea? Mud hook for wheelstands? Useless cost?

Doing my part to keep a piece of history alive. I coulda built 20 modern rear bumpers in the time it took to roll these tubes and hand build this one in mid air The tail doesn’t mount square on the car amd the shape of the fiberglass isn’t the same on both sides so keeping the gaps even all the way around was the challenge

Here's the new design for 2026. If it's half as fast as DJD Graphics made it look, we'll be in good shape 😎

I see a lot of comments from people who are done with Formula 1 because the racing sucks. It's abll about that stupid battery, nothing more. Yes, that's true. They've successfully killed F1. It's literally a lesser version of Formula E. It's horrendous. They pass each other when their batter is full and the other driver's battery is empty, and the next round they switch positions because of the same situation. Look, it's boring. It has nothing to do with racing hard, or with driving on the edge. This isn't F1 anymore. This is why I canceled my subscription to F1TV. I grew up with Senna and Michael Schumacher... later of course becoming a fan of Max Verstappen. But I'm not going to waste my time on Formula E. Just cancel that subscription. Perhaps that will make F1 feel the consequences and it may force them to change something.

@PatSullivanIndy @chromedude1 @ChetChristner Yeah I can appreciate that. Whether you're a racer, track crew, or announcer, everyone sees the race part. Very few understand the massive effort that goes into it behind the scenes. Hats off to you & the crew Pat, love your work and hope to see you at the track someday

@chromedude1 @ericg78 @ChetChristner It's all glamor until you drive all night from Salem In to Allentown PA, and enjoy gas station food, being away from family, and spending too much time with yourself in hotels and in cars. The racing is fun, but loneliness is real. Reward? Endless critique. It can wear thin.

Not complaining about any announcers that I’ve heard tonight but am I the only person that misses hearing @ChetChristner on the mic?

@Ellinaki351 @MattP1Tommy And I totally agree, making the tires just varying levels of bad didn't help either, because with big fuel load you'd still have to drive at 60-70% of the limit to get the right number of laps out of em. Big part of what drove guys like @AussieGrit out of the sport

@Ellinaki351 @MattP1Tommy So what's the solution then? Perhaps refueling but still having the max fuel flow rate rules? Because I think (going off memory here) is that changing the fuel maps drastically was part of the problem in the early 00s "no on track passing" era 🤔

What are your thoughts on the new regulations?

@Ellinaki351 @MattP1Tommy Refueling isn't the answer, the racing was real bad back then. But there's no reason why they can't have v8s again. With a good aero package, they could make a heck of a good show out of it

@DanielScott128 @StormyMv33 But why are you simping for F1 when they could have given us a really good aero package PLUS a power unit that they could actually race with? Sure, the refueling era was bad, but that doesn't mean the racing would have to suffer if they applied better aero regs to it

@StormyMv33 I hate that word. They're in cars. It's all artificial. You know why people still remember overtakes from the "glory days"? Because it was the only good overtake the whole bloody season. The cars can fight back and forth and follow, that's a good thing.

The first laps between Leclerc and Russell were literally artificial. One was forced to recharge while the other deployed and it swapped every lap. That's why Mercedes double-stacked for clear air, so they could push and build a gap. Crazy how some are enjoying this slop I don't get it

Gonna send Liberty media a press release tomorrow bragging about my record number of overtakes on my way to the office... because that's roughly how special most of those "on track passes" were at Melbourne. 👎🏼👎🏼 @F1

Here's a take: What interests me about Cleetus McFarland is he's doing something that hasn't been done before in going from YouTuber to NASCAR driver. So naturally, some people thumb their nose at it and say he's unserious or he can't do it that way. From what I've seen of him in ARCA he can hold his water out there and not be in the way or causing (especially egregious) problems. I say let him try Trucks and O'Reilly. And by the way, if he gets out of the lead pack and just rides for a bit at Daytona we're not even having this discussion.
