@miss_kay_jay I also think its pretty 50/50. Fewer true indies anymore. But his 2018 point doenst mean anything in 2026. Trump isnt even his 2018 self. Plus a war and high gas. None of those existed in 2018. But to use 8 yr old data is crazy lol. Underlying issues arent similar.

It's not really a question of left vs right. It's a question of polarization. People are increasingly motivated by loyalty to a person or group rather than a consistent set of beliefs. That's where I think the left misses the mark in the econ populism vs identity politics debate.

@miss_kay_jay I dont think we are moving right at all. I also dont think the DSA thing is as big a deal as people are allowing the right to tell them it is. I do think some of the left’s ideas are catching on with people. But its being use to scare people now. Its such a small %.
