Few things feel more rewarding than finally exporting a project you've been editing for weeks

Just hit 100 followers. Small number for many, but a big milestone for me. Grateful for every person here. Let’s keep learning, creating, and growing together. On to the next 100 🚀

Your biggest time waster as a video editor: A) Watching endless tutorials B) Doomscrolling C) Being a perfectionist D) Rewatching the same 10 second clip 50 times Which one is killing your momentum?

Every editor remembers their first client payout. It’s not just money. It’s proof that your skill has value. All those late nights learning cuts, transitions, and timelines… suddenly feel worth it. That moment hits different.

I started off working with a wedding production house before finally switching to freelancing for creators. I basically landed the first role in like 2-3 months. But it got hectic real quick. And then, when I switched to freelancing, it took me only around a week to land my first client online. Here’s why it was super quick: - I already had a portfolio to showcase. - I knew how to communicate well. - I posted my work on Linkedin which was booming with video content at that time, somewhere around 2023. Hope you guys get your first client and more quick! Always make sure to keep a good relation with your clients.

YouTubers ignore most cold DMs for one reason: They feel copy-pasted. Common mistakes: • No personalization • Talking about yourself too much • Selling “better editing” instead of more revenue • Targeting the wrong pain Most creators don’t wake up thinking: “I need higher retention.” They think: “How do I make more money?” “How do I grow faster?” “How do I save time?” If your DM doesn’t connect to that, it gets ignored. Talk business. Not software skills.

The difference between a $100 edit and a $1,000 edit isn’t transitions. It’s judgment. What to cut. What to emphasize. What to leave untouched. That's what makes the difference.
